We live on the 3rd floor, and the flat consists of 4 rooms, a long hallway, a kitchen, a balcony, a toilet and a bathroom (seperated from the toilet).
The kitchen has many supplies in it; fridge, stove, oven, toaster, coffee machine, mixer, blender, dish washer. Everyone has a shelf in the fridge and a shelf in the cupboard for the food you don't put in the fridge.
Your room is the smallest in the WG, 12 m2, it's the only room that has window view to our Innerhof, here is the list of things that will be there when you move in:
-wooden wardrobe;
-coat rack and shoes storage (whatever it's called - Kleiderstaender mit Schuhablage)
-white desk;
-lamp on the desk;
-ratang chair;
This will not be there anymore:
-bed.
The matress might stay but I would highly recommend getting a new one...
Our WG is located in Döhren, Peiner Strasse U-Bahn station. It is a very green, clean and quiet neighbourhood. The way from our flat door to U-Bahn station is just a minute which means we live right across the road from Peiner Strasse, lines 1, 2 and 8 circulate through the station so the train usually comes every 2-3 minutes, the way to the city centre (Kröpke, Aegi or Hbf) is about 10-15 minutes only. The shared apartment is 15 minutes walk from Maschsee (obviously the bottom part of it), Edeka and Netto are 2 minutes from the house, Rewe, Penny, Rossmann and Sparkasse are 7 minutes away from the house, Lidl and MacDonalds are about 10 minutes away from the house. There are a few restaurants/places to eat close to the apartment as well. I guess there are some buses near but I'm not sure about that...
Biking to Hochschule is an everyday route for Lara, so it's a good place for students.
If you move in, wou will live with:
1. Maylin, 25, german, geography student, doing her masters so sometimes she has practice - some work at the office connected to windmills, can't live without hiking (and parties)
2. Lara, 19, german, event management student, also engaged in ballet classes, a fan of plants, but also a party animal, vegetarian, also cares a lot about environment etc.
3. Deborah (I call her Deb), 24, american, doing a year program here, she really likes visiting new places in Europe and especially Germany, also engaged in german classes
You won't live with me, Daria, 22, russian, FSJ-ler, because I'm almost done with my social year so I'm going back to Moscow, I'm not so good at german that's why the whole Anzeige is in English.
Yes, internationals are welcome, we would really love our new Mitbewohner*in to speak English as well (it doesn't have to be perfect, though, but that will be a great ptactice for you, so... benefits for all of us), as for example Deborah is not yet fluent but will also be happy to have some practice, and just historically it's been quite an international WG...
We are not Zweck-WG, we do spend time together, we sometimes cook together, have parties, watch movies, drink wine, go out or eat out as well as order food home, of course you do not have to take part in all the activities, but still we hope to find a person that will become a friend for us:) We also appreciate any private space one might need, so closing the door of your room and staying there is totally fine!!
We have a Putzplan, so every 2 weeks each person has to do 2 things (rubbish and bathroom/wc OR kitchen and floor), also sometimes we do some of those chores more often if it's needed. We share almost all of the things in the kitchen, so you don't have to bring plates, mugs, frying pans etc (but you still can if you want to). Things we buy for our WG (toilet paper, cleaning things, bags for rubbish, salt/pepper, paper towels for the kitchen etc.) have never been discussed as all people do a bit when they notice we're just running out of something.
We have a cute balcony with lights there, so when it's not cold we often meet there to chat or also our kitchen is an amazing spot we all sometimes go to to cook together or discuss something, playing board games is also a lot of fun all the time. We are all very helpful and caring!
Guests are allowed, overnights are allowed (hopefully, it never gets too loud though as some of the flatmates still need to study/work/rest/wake up early), but it's never been a problem for us yet.
There's been a lot of change in our WG lately so we are looking for a person that wants to stay long, not just a few months.
If you have any questions or need some additional photos - let me know:) don't hesitate to text, providing some information about you, we would like to learn more about our future flatmate!
