There will be two rooms available in our self-managed 10-person WG , the "Solidarisches Kollektiv Oberbadgasse" (short: SoKo OBG) starting March 2024. We are organized as a housing project in the "Mietshäuser Syndikat" (www.kollektiv-obg.de) and are looking for two new flatmates who would like to live with us on a long-term basis and be an active member of our project.
It is not decided which rooms will be available, so unfortunately there are no pictures. The rooms are all different sizes, but not smaller than indicated. The house consists of three living floors, each with its own bathroom. The kitchen is on the first floor.
Our house is not fully accessible.

Location
Our house is centrally located in the old town near the market place. It is very well connected to public transport. The Altstadt Campus is just around the corner. A small grocery shop is less than a minute away, even if it is a bit more expensive. Cheaper alternatives are about 1km away. Our favorite bars are all also within walking distance.

Living together
As the name suggests, we live together with in our house that we also manage. We share an awareness for solidarity, are considerate of each other's needs and value open communication. We do things together often and gladly: We cook, chat, celebrate, play, clean and are in the process of creating an open space to the public on our first floor. Basically, you will always find someone in the house for activities and to talk to. It is important for us to hear what is going on with you and what is on the minds of the individuals, but it still possible to have privacy and time for yourself.
We share all food and get seasonal vegetables, milk, cheese and meat from the Solawi (Solidarity Farming).
We have been renovating the house ourselves for the last three years and the hardest part is already over. Currently, we are renovating the ground floor and after this, the last project will be the roof.. So there is definitely still enough to do and we are each helping as much as we can whenever we have some spare time. During the process of renovating, we acquired a lot of knowledge and skills and are happy to pass this knowledge on!
In order to organize our communal living and the housing project we meet regularly: There are different smaller groups focussing on topics like renovation or financing in which you can be active within the project in order to manage all tasks together.
We reach decisions according to the consensus principle.
So: Living here also means putting work into the project and its existence. We maintain long-term affordable housing in the old town and are our own landlords. That also means that we can set the rents ourselves and we do this with respect to each individuals means and possibilites (average rent warm 335€).
deine OBG

We are aiming for the first meetings to take place at the end of January.
We are looking forward to meeting you,
