Our humble abode is on the 2nd floor of an apartment building. The available room measures 12 m² and costs 435 € per month (including power, heating, internet, and GEZ). There are a wardrobe and a bookshelf that will stay in the room and can be taken over. The shared spaces of the apartment include a colourful kitchen with a dining area, a large living room with attached balcony, two bathrooms (one with a shower and a washing machine), a hallway storage cabinet and a storage area in the building basement.
The building is in Bergheim, close to the main train station (about 7 min. on foot). Neuenheimer Feld, the Neckarwiese and the Old Town can all be reached by bike in about 10-12 min, and there is a tram stop (Czernybrücke) directly in front of the building. For grocery shopping, there are Aldi, Edeka and DM in about 5 min. walking distance. Also, if you need to go shopping on a Sunday, Rossmann at the train station is just a hop away. The neighbouring Bahnstadt district offers a selection of shops and cafés and on Fridays a weekly outdoor market.
We are Rachel, a PhD student in medical physics, and Julia, a bachelors student in computer science. We are looking for an open-minded, respectful individual, who would be up for spending time with us together. Some things we have enjoyed doing together in the past are: watching TV together (we love The Wire!), cooking, drinking alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, co-working in the living room, and last but certainly not least, eating pizza together.
We like to keep our apartment fairly tidy, and we do clean on a regular basis. If we lived together, we'd of course discuss this so we can make it work for all of us.
The WG has always been a bit like a family, with each new generation getting to know previous members, and we hope to continue this tradition. At the moment, English is the main language of the WG, but others (mainly German) are sometimes spoken, depending on who is there.
We have a parking spot in the underground parking garage, and the building itself has a parking area for bikes and an elevator.
We've set the move-in date to be June 1, but it may be possible to have it a bit earlier. We can discuss this if needed.
