The apartment is 70m² large. It has three rooms, two large ones and one very small room. The kitchen and the bathroom are fully furnished. The second bedroom has a couch that can be used as a bed, a drawer, a desk and a chair. So it's somewhat furnished if you need some furniture. There is a balcony that is accessible from both larger rooms which is also furnished and a small chamber for utensils next to the kitchen. It's on the first floor right above a Rewe.
The apartment is in central Karlsruhe, about 5-10 minutes from campus south. There is a supermarket just below the apartment and two tram stations are less than 5 minutes away. There are numerous restaurants and bars around, multiple hair dressers are in walking distance, a wine cellar is just around the corner and there are two banks just outside. Basically, every possible need is in walking distance. The area is fairly green and livable. To the town center it is about 5-10 minutes by bike.
I live in Cologne but I still work at KIT. Therefore, I am commuting every week and I'm in Karlsruhe about 3-4 days. You'd usually have the apartment for yourself on the weekend. I'm a relaxed person who usually gets along with anyone. If you have any questions, feel free to get in touch.
