The square shaped room is already furnished with a bed, nightstand, lamp, shelf, wardrobe and desk, as you can see in the pictures. Note that the desk in the picture is not the one that will stay in the room; instead a smaller desk (type IKEA MICKE) will stay in the room. The room is one of 4 bedrooms in a shared apartment with a fully equipped kitchen (devices such as oven, stove, dishwasher, dishes, and washing machine are already there) with a food storage room, a bathroom with shower and toilet, an additional guest toilet, and a general purpose storage room. The apartment is located on the 4th floor. Pets and smoking are not allowed inside the apartment, there is no balcony. Even though the apartment is in the city center, it is usually quiet here. You can safely park your bicycle in the basement.
The apartment is being sub-rented to all inhabitants by a company. Since the furniture and devices were provided by the company, they request a single-time payment of 400€ for the usage of furniture and devices. This already covers potentially needed repairs or replacements. The security deposit (Kaution), which you will get back when you move out, is 1200€ corresponding to two monthly rents.

Das Zimmer ist quadratisch gut geschnittene und bereits möblierte mit Bett, Nachttisch, Lampe, Regal, Kleiderschrank, und Schreibtisch. Im Zimmer bleibt allerdings nicht der Schreibtisch auf den Bildern, sonder ein kleinerer vom Typ IKEA MICKE. Es ist eines von vier Schlafzimmern in einer WG mit einer eingerichteten Küche (Geräte wie Ofen, Herd, Spülmaschine, Geschirr und Waschmaschine vorhanden) mit Vorratskammer, einem Bad mit Dusche und Toilette, einer zusätzlichen Gästetoilette, und einer Abstellkammer. Die Wohnung befindet sich im 4 OG. Haustiere und Rauchen sind in der Wohnung verboten, einen Balkon gibt es nicht. Obwohl die Wohnung im Stadtzentrum liegt ist es hier eigentlich immer ziemlich ruhig. Im Keller kann man sein Fahrrad sicher abstellen.
Die Wohnung wird an alle Bewohner von einer Firma untervermietet. Da die Möbel und Geräte von der Firma gestellt wurden verlangen sie einmalig eine 400€ Gerätenutzungspauschale. Darin sind auch eventuelle nötige Reparaturen oder Austausch schon miteingeschlossen.

Perfect location in the middle of Cologne. Directly at the Heumarkt and the Deutzer bridge. Tram, subway, and bus stops are right in front of the door, you can easily connect with the rest of town. Shopping streets, supermarkets and grocery stores, kiosks, and a lot of bars and restaurants can be easily reached by foot. The famous Cologne old town, the cathedral, and the central station are in just a few minutes walking distance.

Perfekte Lage in der Mitte von Köln. Direkt am Heumarkt und der Deutzer Brücke. Straßenbahn- und Bushaltestellen mit vielen Anbindungen sind direkt vor der Tür. Einkaufsstraßen, Supermärkte, Kioske und jede Menge Bars und Restaurants sind ganz einfach fußläufig zu erreichen. Die berühmte Kölner Altstadt, der Dom und der Hauptbahnhof sind auch nur ein paar Minuten weit weg.

I (Pascal) am leaving Cologne because of a new job, hence my room will be free.
The other guys in our great WG are:
Julian, a dual student studying IT and business administration and working in a software company in Cologne. He loves and makes musics, sports, and is always up for grabbing a beer.
Zaid, who is from Jordan, works as a key account manager in a retail company, always knows where the coolest parties are going on in Cologne, and takes care of aesthetics in our apartment.
Yash, who is from India, has his head in about 10 different tech startups, is a real entrepreneur, but also loves to spend his free time watching shows or gaming. He'll be moving out in summer for work as well tho, so you'll get to look for another new WG member soon.
Our WG is really easy going a friendly. We don't do everything together, but we definitely get along really well, like to hang out and do fun stuff together every now and then, and we would like our new WG member to be our new friend as well.
It would be important to me that you don’t have a problem with communicating openly and that you can more or less care of cleanliness and orderliness (like not leaving garbage lying around and cleaning what got dirty during cooking etc.).

Ich (Pascal) ziehe bald wegen einem neuen Job aus Köln weg, daher wird mein Zimmer frei.
Die andern Jungs in unserer WG sind:
Julian, eine dualer Student der IT und Innovationsmanagement studiert und bei einem Kölner Software Unternehmen arbeitet. Er liebt und macht Musik, Sport, und ist immer für ein Bier oder sonst was lustiges zu haben.
Zaid, aus Jordanien, arbeitet als Key Account Manger, weiß immer wo in Köln die coolsten Parties abgehen, und ist bei uns in der Wohnung für die Ästhetik zuständig.
Yash, aus Indien, ist in ca. 10 verschiedenen Tech-Startups involviert, ist ein richtiger Entrepreneur, aber verbringt seine Freizeit auch gerne mit Serien und Gaming. Er zieht allerdings auch bald beruflich bedingt weg und ihr könnt euch dann noch einen weiteren Mitbewohner suchen.
Unsere WG ist ziemlich einfach und freundschaftlich. Wir machen nicht immer alles zusammen, aber kommen alle super miteinander aus und unternehmen öfters was zusammen. Es wäre uns wichtig, dass unser neuer Mitbewohner auch unser neuer Freund wird.
Es wäre uns auch wichtig, dass du kein Problem damit hast offen zu kommunizieren und die Wohnung sauber zu halten.

The cost for internet and the German broadcasting tax (Rundfunkbeitrag) for the apartment when shared with 4 people, should be around 15€ per person per month. If one of the rooms stays vacant for a longer time, we’d have to split the amount among the remaining people.
The rental company will ask you for a copy of your passport (and maybe visa) and a proof of income to see that you can safely pay the rent, before you can sign the contract. Usually they will let you sign the contract electronically and send via Email if necessary.

Wenn wir kosten für Internet und Rundfunkbeitrag durch 4 teilen, sind es ca. 15€ pro Person pro Monat. Sollte eines der Zimmer aber mal für eine Weile leer stehen müssten wir den Betrag durch die verbleibenden Personen teilen.
Die untervermietende Firme verlangt für den Vertragsabschluss eine Kopie deines Ausweises und einen Einkommensnachweis (oder ggf. Elternbürgschaft).
