Hey!
I'm on a trip to meet friends and work on a uni project in september and am thinking about subletting my room for that time.
The flat is my partner's and mine shared flat and we moved in fairly recently and very slow, so not everything is *beautiful* to the bone, but it's now at the stage where I think it's comfortably liveable. Even though a bit minimalistic still, as you can see in the missing of lampshades haha, but I generally like that more than cluttered so I hope it would be like that for you, too!
My partner and me have seperate rooms and I this listing is about my room. There is also a living room with a little balcony, a well equipped kitchen and 2 bathrooms. The kitchen has a coffee machine, dish washer and microwave, apart from the standard stuff. Everything is fully equipped ofc.
My room is fairly big, has a weird shape, but everything in it you need for everyday life and I'll emtpy the whole big, dark brown drawers for you to store clothing and other things. There's a 140 bed with a fairly thin mattress (which I love haha, so good for your back :D), a (standing) desk, big mirror + free storage space in two pieces of furniture. There's enough space to do yoga in my room and comfy carpets. If you want I can leave the books inside, feel free to read themt, or if you'd prefer the extra space on the windowsill I can put them in the basement.
Towels and bedding you could use mine or your own, however you prefer!
Right between the Wiener Platz (train station) and the Rhine that flat has a really great location.
It's very central in Mülheim, two supermarkets are in 5min walking distance and there's a market 3 times a week around the corner.
There's cafés, heaps of great turkish restaurants, the river rhine with nature and running routes, direct train connections to the city center or university, and some cultural areas around aswell.
The street is fairly loud at some nights, that's a downside, but the house is generally on the calmer side of Mülheim.
My partner is a really nice person (I know, of course I'd say that), as in calm, socially engaged, really tidy and probably quite busy with a term paper and some political projects in the time a subtenant would be living in the flat.
He plays the piano in the livingroom sometimes, but not at unreasonable times of course :D He likes language learning and reading and sometimes he listens to music loudly, but also not really that often. So life at home is usually quite calm. It's important for my partner that a potential flatmate would have a somewhat similar lifestyle, p.e. not throw parties at home, but I guess that's self evident.
We both fall under the LGBT umbrella, don't usually smoke or drink and have big problems with racist or homophobic ideologies.
Food we usually don't split, but you can always take from the basics and just replace it later or arrange sharing costs. Everyday cleaning should be split ofcourse :)
If you are interested in subrenting, maybe we could just have a short zoom call, where everyone can meet and get a first hand impression of whether they think it would be a good fit?
The price I am paying per month is 670€ incl. everything, but I am still in the process of applying for social housing support so the actual rent *could* turn out cheaper, but who knows when that's gonna happen. Because of that and because the rent is 5days shorter than a month I decided to set it at 550€ for now. If you think you are a great fit but feel like you cannot afford that please do not hesitate to message me. I know how fucked the flat-market is of course.
If you are interested please send me a message in either German or English and include some things about you :)
looking forward to hear from you!
I'll add more pictures in the next days as I proceed to clean and rearrange!
