Hey !

Hey !
Our housing project is currently undergoing a generational change, so we are looking for new people who would like to live with us. We would like to live functionally, so all together, on the whole living space, and are currently redesigning ourselves accordingly. So there are also some opportunities for co-design.
In order for it to fit together, it would be important to us that you can basically get involved with the idea of functional living - many details and specific implementation issues are also absolutely adaptable to individual needs.
What is functional living with us?
Functional living, means that no one here has a room of their own. Instead, all rooms have a function. We have made sure that there are enough retreat possibilities, such as in the retreat room, or also in the craft room. If you want to be for yourself you can go there. To ensure privacy, there should be door signs at the retreat rooms, which can be set to do not disturb, for example.
For us, functional living also means sharing many things like books and clothes. Of course, you don't have to do that if you don't feel comfortable with it.
For the room layout, we have thought about the following so far:
There is/should be: A common room, a dining room, an exercise corner, a creative room (which can also be used as a retreat room), a kitchen with a large fridge and dishwasher, a pantry and a laundry room, 2 small bathrooms and a large wellness bathroom, a large bedroom + dressing room, a study and 2 more retreat rooms (one of them parallel as a guest room). In addition, we have a huge garden, in which there is a super cozy garden house, as well as soon a stilt house. The garden also has a small pond, thousands of sitting areas, a hanging swing, hammocks, lots of flower beds, a sunrise terrace and a living room terrace. And then there is an attic and 2 garages, which are currently used mainly as storage places, but in perspective can be used other.
The house is unfortunately not barrier-free, due to narrow hallways and bathrooms and stairs to the bathroom. If you want more info on this, feel free to ask :)
It would be great if you could elaborate in your message if you can imagine functional living in principle. And also if you have any questions about it.
Location
Our house is located at the end of a play street across from a beautiful playground where there are many large trees. There is a nice forest path through which you can bike to the city and the train station in 15min.
To the university you need about half an hour and there is also a bus that goes through.
In Adendorf there is a beautiful forest and fields for walking, Friday afternoons there is a market with an organic food stand (for late wakers).
At the market place we have a really great, cozy library where you can borrow not only books, but also beamers, party equipment, hiking equipment, child seats, etc..
Next to it is the town hall where you can get everything you need super fast and easy, both only about 2 minutes away by bike. The food supply is secured with nearby supermarkets and a Fairteiler (and other possibilities 😉) to save food. Our neighborhood is super suitable for the "Sperrmüllen" and the doctors here even still have reception capacity.

Your future roommates are Nova, Domino and Ray. That means we are looking for some more people who want to live with us. There are no clearly defined limits for the number of people - it depends mainly on the rent and the needs of the people living here, at the moment we are thinking about 6-7 people.
Nova studies Studium Individuale in the 4th semester. In Nova's free time Nova likes to draw, read or spend time where there are plants. Otherwise, Nova loves to cook and bake, and likes to try new things, even if it doesn't always go well. Nova also likes to withdraw from time to time, in order to be able to get more involved with people again. Nova likes to dream at night and during the day. In the near future Nova would like to be more active, and work a lot in the garden.
Ray is usually a bit lost, but does ther best to organize theirself. This includes trying to make themself real food, finding the motivation for activist work on the laptop (is therefore also happy about co-working-compatible people) and finding the right wage labour for themself. Ray loves order and when things/spaces/clothes match in color. Other than that, they likes to draw, play board/card games, loooove concerts and music, and even try their hand at ukulele. Since Ray's friends are unfortunately spread all over the place and Ray can also be found at climate camps or other leftist gatherings, they is often on the road.
Domino is a first-semester student of bio and maths and moved into the shared flat in October. Domino likes to go climbing or bouldering in their free time, likes to be creative, enjoys being in nature and loves long walks. Jonna likes to talk to others about everything and is always available for game nights, watching series together or movie nights.
WG Life: We see ourselves not only as a "no purpose shared apartment" but as a community. Try to take care of each other, discuss important things with each other and care for each other.
This means, among other things, that we like to do things together, e.g. organize huge wedding parties, go to feminist rap concerts, regularly try to make plenums, try solidary cleaning plans and cook for each other.
We organize our food in such a way that we are busy saving and recycling food.
We don't have a WG cash register, but see to it that everyone goes shopping for the community in roughly similar amounts, or in such a way that everyone feels comfortable with it. If there are concerns on your part, we can talk about it again.
Also the rent, which is just 410€ per person with 5 roommates, can be adjusted in solidarity.
Some here like to have common building projects, others organize themselves politically, honesty, an open, progressive conflict culture, space for big feelings and a respectful interaction with each other is important to all of us.
Some of us also care a lot about dealing with the issue of drugs and alcohol.
By this we mean understanding how confronting it can negatively affect people, and being considerate of that, communication and consensus about how and when drug use happens in the context of the house, and overall simply addressing the issue and/or being willing to learn about the issue, and listening.
It would make us feel good if you could briefly acknowledge in your message that this is something you can engage with
We describe ourselves as a queer feminist, gender-sensitive, anti-discrimination community, and it's important to us that future roommates have similar views.
What we don't want is (not taking responsibility for) discriminatory behavior of any form, unsolidaristic behavior, cops, Nazis, etc.
This colorful house with this huge garden offers an incredible number of opportunities to live out and arrive. For all of us our house has become a home.
