Welcome to your new flat (probably)!
Introductions! We're Srini, Nikan, and Santi. More about us under Flatshare Type section :)
So here's a little something about the apartment: it's huge, especially the living room: a store room, 2 bathrooms, 2 (in words: TWO) balconies, a spacious kitchen and 4 bedrooms, one of which is for you. Every room does what it's supposed to do: they all have a door and windows. The living room is the heart of the flat, with its 3 couches (we maybe went a little overboard there), dining table, board games(feel free to increase the count), plants, TV and an electric piano- courtesy of Nikan.
Your room is 10 sqm and the window facing the bright side of the apartment towards a cute little park right outside. It also has a door, that closes and even opens, yay!
It's a room, just look at the pictures :)
Also, the room can be semi-furnished.
The location is quite central yet not very close to the busyness of Munich. We're very close to Ostbahnhof (S-Bahn and U-Bahn), but not so close that we're taken hostage by the noise of the trains. Also Karl-Preis-Platz (U2) is very close (10 mins walk).
There's a small but pretty park literally right outside the building, and if you get a bike, you'll basically reach anywhere within no time (e.g. the Isar is approx. 7 minutes away)!
Down the road there's V-Markt, an obscenely huge supermarket (I mean, it has it's own V-Markt-Baumarkt hardware store attached to it) and an Aldi within 4 minutes’ walk. If you happen to need stuff on Sundays, there's an Edeka and a DM in Ostbahnhof.
There's also plenty of restaurants and Bars closeby, that we couldn't really visit during the pandemic so we have a lot of catching up to do. Especially the Werksviertel has a lot to offer.
Also, Boulderwelt-Ost, a huge bouldering-hall is very close (as well as Heaven's Gate - another climbing/bouldering place) but more on that in the next section!
We want to make sure, that you read the ad properly, so please start your message to us with the answer to a simple question: what's your favorite ice-cream?
Alright, now it's time for introductions!
I am Srini, 31! I am a software engineer ( thus fulfilling the criteria of being an Indian). I enjoy cooking, playing games, and watching tv shows. I like to play cricket during the summers and to go to the mountains every chance I get! I occasionally love to torture my flatmates (you included, if you'd like to) with my spicy Indian food. Recently, I got back into a childhood hobby that I had long given up on and I spend most of my free time on it.
hey I am Nikan, 24. I moved here from Stuttgart for my masters in electrical engineering at TUM. As you already read I like to play the piano but I also love to play (beach-) volleyball, chess and table tennis. I am the caretaker of our numerous plants and the technician of our flat.
Last but not least. I am Santi, 22. During the last couple of years, I have been moving around a lot, Colombia, Finland, Sweden, Greenland, Spain and now Munich, where I am currently doing a master's in maths and theoretical physics. I am also a big cinema fan, a chess enthusiast and an amateur photographer.
In my free time, I also do some reading (my small but carefully curated library is at your disposal), and when the weather allows it you'll find me either hiking, dancing (mainly salsa, but really I will dance to anything that remotely resembles a beat) or training capoeira.
The positive atmosphere in the apartment is something we value a lot. We really like spending time together, but also respect each others' boundaries (we tend to have different schedules but we always work things out pretty quickly). If you're simply looking for a purpose-flat situation, this might not be the right one for you (but you'd probably already have stopped reading by now).
Also, the tidiness of the flat is important to us, we have a cleaning schedule that isn't insane but it's important that everyone pulls their weight in the flat. Needless to say, please clean the dishes and stove as soon as possible.
We like cooking together (we all are either vegetarian or vegan), we watch shows together, go the Englischer Garten, and we would like to go to the Boulderhalle together. We like to play boardgames from time to time, or video games. And occasionally we are hosting a party or two at our flat :). Any impulses you can bring to the WG are welcome, feel free to tell us about those!
Looking forward to your messages,
Nikan, Srini, Santi
We have a parking spot available, which we're renting out at the moment, but if you need it, we can certainly make it available again.
