The room is cozy, with a large window facing the East. A mattress / bed frame are included (140 x 200), as well as a couch, desk, and desk chair. You would need to bring your own pillows / bed sheets, / towels, and storage for your clothing if you wish.
For the rest of the apartment:
There is a combo kitchen / living room with a nice couch and the other basics, as well as a small laundry room to one side (washer, no dryer). I don't have a TV set up but you're welcome to bring one if you can find a way to fit it in the space! We have plenty of pots / pans / dishes so you wouldn't need to bring anything like that unless you wanted to.
The bathroom is small but functional enough and I try to keep it respectably clean. There is a shower / bath combo.
The apartment has an allocated garden which you could use as you please... I don't have much time to maintain it but can at least keep it trimmed. There is also a cellar space but it's rather full, so it might not be the best option for someone with a lot of furniture to move.
Location: The apartment is very conveniently located in the old neighborhood of Alte Heide, which is very quiet and cozy for being so close to the center!
Connections: The Alte Heide U-Bahn station (U6) just a block away (Münchner Freiheit is 3 stops along U6, Studentenstadt 1 stop), as well a night bus which drops off just 5 minutes away (Zaunweg / Alte Heide stops).
Shopping: There is an Aldi / Edeka (grocery stores) just by the U-Bahn, as well as a DHL packstation and pharmacy. There are also some nearby places to grab a bite to eat or an ice cream, a good barbershop, a pet store, bike service, and plenty of delivery options.
The location is really excellent for students of LMU, TU, or TU-Garching. Extra bonus: its just a 5 minute walk to the English Garden!
I (your potential roommate) am a Ph.D. student of the LMU, studying neuroscience / psychology. I am very easy going and generally stress-free, so please don't worry that I might be some neurotic shut-in : ) I enjoy cooking and spend most evenings with my girlfriend either at home or out somewhere. I'm also a cycling coach and spend a lot of my time outside doing something with bikes, if not climbing, or just relaxing out in the park. When I'm home its usually just to cook, sleep, or watch something on my computer in my room. But I don't mind socializing either!
I don't tend to have parties at home out of respect for the neighbors (I also just generally don't organize them, prefer to go out to a bar with friends after work or so) - regardless they're all nice people haven't had issues in the past with small gatherings as long as you inform them ahead of time or quiet down when they ask.
I'm really not one to stress about cleaning plans or the like - I just clean when things need cleaning. As long as you do the same, it won't be an issue. If you need a spotless and hermetically sterile apartment, look elsewhere, it's not filthy but I'm not going to be anal about it. Clean dishes after you use them, vacuum the floors if they need it, take out the trash when its full or stinky, so on so fourth.
The room is currently offered for 3 months as my roommate is away for studies. At the end of those three months, she may come back to Munich, or may go to another location for a year. So there is a chance that the apartment becomes available for longer - it will just have to start out as a short term sub-lease until she has a better idea of where she will be going come September.
P.S. - PLEASE RESPOND BY EMAIL - I WILL NOT ANSWER THE PHONE IF I DONT KNOW WHOS CALLING ME!!! Bonus points to those who respond with at the very least their Facebook or some other social media so I can see how you live a bit.
