The room of 15 m² has a very sturdy hochbett plateau and a large window into the courtyard, which, though it doesn't allow for a lot of direct sunlight, makes it a very quiet room. The entrance to to the hochbett is by stairs rather than a ladder, which very easy to go up and down (even at night).
Height under the hochbett: 1.85 m; height from the hochbett to the ceiling: 1.44 m.
There is a sealed doorway to the adjoining room, however it is fairly well isolated with a thick layer of foam. As you can see in the photos, the space can be used as a closet.
The price is 385€, extra costs are included (electricity, gas, wifi, operating costs and money for the WG-Kassa, which we use to pay for repairs etc.).
There may be some furniture left in the room (still sorting this out) but we do at least have a small mattress that you can use during your stay.
Next tram stations: Fasangasse - Line 0 (in front of the door), Line 18 (2 min), Quartier Belvedere - Line D (5 min)
Next S-Bahn stations: Quartier Belvedere (5 min), Rennweg (10 min),
Next metro + train station: U1 / Main Train Station (Hauptbahnhof) (10 min)
We live next to Schweizer garden, the botanical garden and Belvedere, so there are a lot of options to go out and spend some time in a green environment.
We are looking for a nice person who is open, uncomplicated, and willing to contribute to a harmonious WG existence☺️. Usually, all our interactions are rather spontaneous and depend on how communicative we currently are. When we are in the mood, we chat in the kitchen, but we also appreciate our privacy and "me-time" very much. We are always open to new ideas about our coexistence (whether technical or social) and look forward to good input 🌞
In the past we organized the cleaning with an app called Flatastic, but we are open to other suggestions on this as well. It's important to us that everyone contributes to a decently clean flat in which everyone can feel at home, and how this is accomplished is not so important :) We are also open to suggestions for improving the flat in general and for making the most and best use of our limited space!
A little bit about us:
Ben (36) moved to Vienna a few years ago and spent a few years working professionally as a researcher, however he is now a student again at Uni Wien studying geography. He is originally from the USA but studied in Germany prior to moving to Vienna. In his spare time he likes to make overly large portions of vegan food, do sports (especially running), read, and work on crafts or overly ambitious projects for his room or for the shared space in the flat. He is currently trying (somewhat successfully) to turn the flat into a mini green oasis, and has also taken up worm composting (don't worry, they don't bite ;)).
Hedy (23) is also from the US, enjoys longboarding and chilling at the Donau, being outside in general, partying, dumpster diving, and "art" evenings.
Manu (27) is the most recent addition to the flat, and comes from Columbia. She is doing her Masters in Biology and is a lot of fun!
It is really important to us that the four of us are able to live harmoniously without stepping on anyone's need for privacy or sleep. We are not at all opposed to having people over, however we are not really a party flat and typically at least a few of us need to be up early in the morning. That being said, we are more than open to scheduled or spontaneous cooking sessions, movie nights, or park hangouts :)
If we've piqued your interest and you can picture yourself living with us, please write us something unique about yourself (What you are doing in Vienna, why you want to move in with us, and what you think you can bring to our little group). Please use the word "aurochs" in the first few sentences of your message so that we know you read the whole advert :D
Looking forward to chatting with you soon!
LG, Ben, Hedy & Manu
