All good things come to an end :/ I’m sad to be leaving my first and best WG since it’s time to move in with my partner. And so we're looking for a person who fits our open-minded and relaxed attitude for moving permanently into the room.
The room itself is very large, about 28m² with very high ceilings. It has three windows (all with blinds) facing the inner courtyard and the Wienzeile, so no busy streets! Therefore it is quite quiet. The room comes almost completely unfurnished. Officially it is free from January 1st but I will move out most of my stuff by the December 18th and so an earlier move in date is possible if you don’t mind a few boxes around :)
The flat itself has been a WG for a long time, and you might be able to tell that it has been lived in, but due to this reason it's fully equipped and come with everything you need and maybe even a little extra. It is quite large, all rooms are roughly the same size and separated by a long hallway. The kitchen is also spatious. We have a lot of storage space in the large vorraum. Additionally, we have a staircase/balcony that can be used in summer for a chilled beer in the setting sun :) There is also a courtyard (with a gate) where one can have bikes.
The location of the flat is really great and very convenient. It's in the 5th district right on the Rechte Wienzeile (so, on the border to the 6th) – basically in between the U4 metro stops Margaretengürtel & Pilgramgasse (3-7 min). If you need to go to U6, you can reach the station Gumpendorfer Straße in about 10 min on foot. Other tram lines (e.g. 6, 18) and bus stops (e.g. 12A, 13A, 14A, 57A, N60 etc.) are also nearby (Wiener Linien are great).
There is a supermarket right across the street. Other shops such as a bakery, the post office and a tobacco shop are within a 2 min radius. If you need more than that, you can always go to Mariahilferstraße (10 min) and get everything else you need there.
In summer, you can hang out in the small park at Margaretengürtel or the Pilgram-Terraces. Plenty of great bars and restaurants are around the corner as well.
The WG life is pretty relaxed. There's always the opportunity to hang out together, having drinks, watching TV or playing games (online & offline) – in summer, our favorite spot is in the evening sun on our so-called balcony. In general, we very sociable and like to have people over. However, we're no longer the typical student-WG that we used to be and since we're all working full time by now, the work rhythm dominates during the week. Ideally, we're looking for someone who shares that rhythm.
Harri is 28 and has been living in the flat for 7 years after moving here from Linz. He's working as an internal auditor in a department of the city of Vienna. Besides being a devoted civil servant (kidding) he likes to spend his time with the usual things, like drinking beer, playing spike ball or basketball, watching sports or playing games. He's really chilled and laid back.
Thijs (25) is from the Netherlands and lives in Vienna since last year April. He works in a Hotel and still studies International Hospitality Management. In his time off, he loves to enjoy Vienna on its best and is always open for a night out in one of the many great clubs Vienna has. For him, the biggest clichés about Dutch people are true: you can always find him on his bicycle and the amount of cheese he eats is insane. At home, he loves cooking and always has some great wines to drink.
Ilja came to us only recently, moving in from Tirol. He’s chatty, easy-going and has immediately become a great fit in the flat. He plays a lot of instruments, sports, and rumour has it likes to cook and bake.
All of us are pretty different in character, what we have in common is being easy-going and open-minded. We like so ending time together but it's always completely fine for everyone to take their own space of course.
If all these things sound good to you, we'd love to hear a few things about you in order to get a first impression. We will be happy to get back to you if it could be a good fit!
Zuzana,
Harri, Thijs & Ilja
