Die Wohnung ist im Hochpaterre eines hübschen Altbaus mit extra hohen Decken. Zentraler kann man kaum wohnen. In 30 Sekunden stolpert man auf den AKH Campus. Man ist sowohl im 1. wie auch im 8. Bezirk in ein paar Gehminuten. Zum Kanal sind es 10 Laufminuten.
Wir liegen in einem tollen Dreieck aus Billas, auf der Alserstraße gibt’s alles was das Herz begehrt, markta, spar, apotheke, billa etc.
Auch die Öffi-anbindung ist top, 10 Minuten laufen zum Schottentor (U2, D, 71 …), ansonsten 43/44/5 in 4 min erlaufbar, 37/38/40/41 auch in 3 Minuten ca erreichbar – aber mit dem Fahrrad geht eh alles noch flotter.
Gagarin sowie Regenbogen sind in 2 Minuten erreichbar 😉

The apartment is on the mezzanine floor of a pretty Altbau with extra high ceilings. You could hardly live more centrally. You can stumble onto the AKH campus in 30 seconds. Both the 1st and 8th districts are just a few minutes' walk away. The Donaucanal is a 10-minute walk away.
We are located in a great triangle of billas, on Alserstraße there is everything your heart desires, markta, spar, pharmacy, billa etc..
The public transport connections are also great, 10 minutes walk to Schottentor (U2, D, 71 ...), otherwise 43/44/5 can be reached in 4 minutes, 37/38/40/41... can also be reached in 3 minutes - but everything is even quicker by bike anyway.
Gagarin and Regenbogen can be reached in 2 minutes 😉

Ein bisschen zu mir, Sophie (28, she/her):
Ich komme aus Frankfurt und bin vor über 3 Jahren für den Master in Internationaler Entwicklung nach Wien gezogen und hab es hier sehr liebgewonnen (auch wenn ich Äppler vermisse). In der Schwarzspanierstraße wohne ich seit bald 3 Jahren. Neben dem rumstudieren lohnarbeite ich in einem wissenschaftlichen Projekt, leite ein Tutorium am Institut und bin aktiv in mancherlei politischem Zusammenhang.
Ich spiel gern Tischtennis (aber casual, nicht so verbissen), geh gern schwimmen, radel überall hin und koche gerne und hab eine große büchersammlung und nähkiste, die ich gern teile.
Ich bin bei foodsharing, gehe zum Karmeliter Markt, Denns und Deewan abholen und freu mich, wenn Leute auch ein Interesse an Lebensmittelrettung bzw. einen sorgsamen Umgang mit Essen haben, würde zb auch gern containern anfangen.
Bin immer zu haben für trash tv&secco, gemeinsam kochen, film schauen, kurz beieiander ausheulen, donauinsel, lecker schmausen gehen oder einfach in der küche/ einer bar ratschen.
Ich plane bis Juni mit meinem Master fertig zu sein und weiß ab Juni dementsprechend noch nicht genau, was passiert. Ich plane in Wien zu bleiben, aber gerade ist das nicht so 100% absehbar.

Ich komme ursprünglich aus Berlin, und bin seit etwa drei Jahren im schönen Wien, studiere wie Sophie ebenfalls Internationale Entwicklung und schreibe mittlerweile schon eine Weile meine Masterarbeit, die aber auch irgendwann bald fertig sein sollte. Ich koche und backe gerne für Mitbewohnis und Friends, gehe joggen, versinke im Twitter-Loch oder verliere gegen Sophie im Tischtennis :D. Ich werde im Frühjahr für ein paar Monate nach Madrid für ein Praktikum gehen :)

und noch ein paar Infos zu Nora:
Ich bin 27 Jahre alt und mache gerade (wie Soffe und Elena) meinen Master in IE. Ich komme aus Freiburg in Deutschland, es hat mich aber bereits vor zwei Jahren ins schöne Wien gezogen. Wichtig ist mir auf jeden fall eine gute Kommunikation und ein respektvolles Miteinander (surprise!), bei dem mensch sich gerne zusammensetzt und quatscht, kocht, ein Gläschen trinkt, sich aber bei Bedarf auch einfach zurückzuziehen kann.
Ich würde sagen, ich kann mich für einige Dinge begeistern, das reicht von gutem (vegetarischem) Essen, über Sonnenstunden an der Donau, gemütlichen Abenden mit Freund:innen bei ein, zwei Bierlis, Wanderungen, tanzen (ich habe neuerdings mit contemporary angefangen), aware menschen, die eine klare haltung gegenüber sexismus, rassismus und anderen diskriminierungsformen haben und natürlich für eine schöne Bleibe!

Mit Pia wirst du noch im Februar zusammenwohnen, sie hat ganz ganz bald ihre Verteidigung im Psychologie-Studium und wird dann nach vielen Jahren in Graz und Wien nach Deutschland zurück gehen.

WG-LIFE

Wir sind aufgeschlossene und gesellige Personen und uns ist eine offene Kommunikation in der WG wichtig, sodass wir regelmäßige WG Plenas für sinnvoll und schön halten. Wir haben in den letzten Jahren WG-Erfahrungen gesammelt und sind beide viel unterwegs, aber genauso in der Wg für gemeinsame Aktionen anzutreffen, für Spieleabende, trash-tv, kochen, einen langen Brunch am Wochenende oder gemeinsam zur critical mass.

Wir hatten bisher immer einen geteilten Kühlschrank, das können wir in einer neuen Konstellation aber natürlich auch ändern/ besprechen.
Zusätzlich würde ich gern wieder in eine foodcoop, damit habe ich sehr gute Erfahrungen gemacht und ich fänds schön, wenn wir beim Einkaufen und Verzehren, vor allem von tierischen Produkten, drauf achten, dass wir nichts verschwenden und es kein billiger scheiß ist. Elena ernährt sich ohnehin vegan, Soffe flexialles und Nora vegetarisch.
Wir sind Fans von wöchentlich abwechselnden Putzdiensten (gerade haben wir ein süßes Putzrad, mit dem putzen gleich viel mehr Spaß macht), aber natürlich können wir da gemeinsam auch eine für alle passende Regelung finden. Was für uns eher nicht diskutabel ist, ist ein Grundverständnis von Sauberkeit und Ordnung.
Wichtig ist obviously auch ein solidarischer Umgang miteinander. Alle haben unterschiedliche Kapazitäten was Carearbeit oder finanzielle Ressourcen innerhalb der WG angeht, das ist normal und okay. Uns ist es wichtig, dass die WG ein Rückzugsort und comfort space ist, in dem sich alle Bewohnis jederzeit maximal wohl fühlen können sollen. Offene Kommunikation ist dafür Grundelement.

Uns ist im Zusammenwohnen ein rücksichtsvoller und toleranter Umgang miteinander sehr wichtig. Rassismus, Sexismus, queer- und Transfeindlichkeit und alle anderen ismen, insbesondere antifeministische Einstellungen oder daraus resultierende Rollenaufteilungen innerhalb der WG, möchten wir echt nicht erleben, ein linkes Grundverständnis ist gern gesehen.

A little bit about me, Sophie (28, she/her):
I'm from Frankfurt and moved to Vienna over 3 years ago for my Master's in International Development and fell in love with the city (even though I miss Äppler). I've been living in Schwarzspanierstraße for almost 3 years now. In addition to studying around, I work on a scientific project, run a tutorial at the institute and am active in various political organisations.
like to play table tennis (but casually, not so obsessively), go swimming, cycle everywhere and enjoy cooking and have a large collection of books and a sewing box that I like to share.
I'm involved in foodsharing, go to the Karmeliter market, pick up Denns and Deewan and am happy when people are interested in food rescue or a careful handling of food, e.g. I would also like to start containerising.
I'm always up for trash tv&secco, cooking together, watching a film, having a quick cry, donauinsel, going for a delicious meal or just chatting in the kitchen/ a bar.
I'm planning to finish my Master's degree by June, so I don't know exactly what will happen after June. I'm planning to stay in Vienna, but it's not 100% foreseeable at the moment.

I am 27 years old and am currently doing my Master's degree in IE (like Soffe and Elena). I'm from Freiburg in Germany, but I moved to beautiful Vienna two years ago. What's important to me is definitely good communication and respectful interaction (surprise!), where people like to sit together and chat, cook, have a drink, but can also simply withdraw if necessary.
I'd say I'm enthusiastic about a few things, ranging from good (vegetarian) food, hours of sunshine on the Donau, cosy evenings with friends over a beer or two, hikes, dancing (I've recently taken up contemporary), being aware of people who have a clear stance against sexism, racism and other forms of discrimination and, of course, a nice place to stay!

Elena (25, she/her):
I'm originally from Berlin, and moved to beautiful Vienna about three years ago. Like Sophie, I'm also studying International Development and have been writing my Master's thesis for a while now, but it should be finished sometime soon. I like to cook and bake for flatmates and friends, go running, sink into the Twitter hole or lose to Sophie at table tennis :D.
I'm going to Madrid for a few months in spring for an internship :)

You will still be living with Pia in February, she has her defence in her psychology degree very soon and will then go back to Germany after many years in Graz and Vienna.

WG-LIFE

We are open-minded and sociable people and open communication in the flat share is important to us, so we think regular flat share plenas are a good idea. We have gained experience in shared flats in the last few years and are both on the road a lot, but can also be found in the flat share for joint activities, games evenings, trash-tv, cooking, a long brunch at the weekend or going to critical mass together.

We've always had a shared fridge and I really like the concept. For this purpose, we have listed the purchases in Split Wise and made a statement from time to time. Of course, we can change/discuss this in a new constellation.
I (sophie) often go foodsharing and would also like to start to "containern". I'd also like to join a foodcoop again, I've had very good experiences with that and I think it would be nice if we made sure when shopping and eating, especially animal products, that we don't waste anything and that it's not cheap crap. Elena eats a vegan diet anyway, I'm flexi-all and Nora vegetarian.
We're fans of alternating weekly cleaning duties (we've just got a cute cleaning wheel that makes cleaning so much more fun), but of course we can work together to find an arrangement that suits everyone. What we don't want to be discussing is a basic understanding of cleanliness and tidiness.
It is obviously also important to treat each other with solidarity. Everyone has different capacities when it comes to care work or financial resources within the shared flat, that's normal and okay. It's important that the shared flat is a place of retreat and comfort space where all should be able to feel as comfortable as possible at all times. Open communication is a basic element of this.

It is very important to us that we live together in a considerate and tolerant way. We really don't want to experience racism, sexism, queer and transhostility and all other isms, especially anti-feminist attitudes or the resulting division of roles within the shared flat; a lefty basic understanding is welcome.

Disclaimer Baustelle

Seit Juni 2021 wird die u-bahn Station Frankhplatz gebaut und in der Schwarspanierstraße entsteht einer der Ausgänge. Die Baustelle hat uns schon einiges an Sorgen beschert. Aber die guten Neuigkeiten sind, dass die gröbsten Arbeiten schon vorbei sind und sie nun nur noch unterirdisch arbeiten. Die Straße ist natürlich trotzdem eine Baustelle, die noch bis voraussichtlich 2026 andauern wird. Die beiden Nordseite Zimmer sind davon betroffen - also auch dieses Zimmer. Solang du nicht jeden Tag von daheim arbeiten musst sollte es kein Problem sein, aber da sprechen wir am besten persönlich drüber 😊 Allerdings klingt das schlimmer als es ist, meistens hört man absolut nichts.
Im Haus selbst wird auch noch eine Wohnung saniert, was bisher sehr laut war, aber bis Frühjahr 2024 fertig sein soll.
In Anbetracht der Baustellen Lage haben wir lang mit der Hausverwaltung und dem Vermieter gekämpft und sind gerade in den finalen Verhandlungen um eine Mietminderung. Die Miete wird also mit großer Wahrscheinlichkeit noch günstiger, aber fix was dazu sagen kann ich zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt leider nicht.

Einrichtung

Die WG verliert mit den Mitbewohnis naturgemäß auch einiges an Einrichtung - dadurch entsteht aber auch neuer Gestaltugsraum. Aber wir haben schon viele neue Dinge besorgt und es sammelt sich alles zusammen :) - gemütlich wird es also weiterhin in der Wg sein.

Falls du etwas mitbringen würdest, freuen wir uns natürlich. Aber sonst wird auch alles wichtige da sein :)
Da ich keinen Kaffee trinke gibt’s auch bisher keine Kaffeemaschine.

Disclaimer construction site

The Frankhplatz subway station has been under construction since June 2021 and one of the exits is being built in Schwarspanierstraße. The construction site has already given us a lot to worry about. But the good news is that the worst of the work is already over and they are now only working underground. Of course, the road is still a construction site, which is expected to last until 2026. The two north-facing rooms are affected - including this room. As long as you don't have to work from home every day, it shouldn't be a problem, but it's best to talk about it in person 😊 However, it sounds worse than it is, most of the time you hear absolutely nothing.
An apartment in the house itself is also being renovated, which has been very loud so far, but should be finished by spring 2024.
In view of the construction site situation, we have been fighting with the property management and the landlord for a long time and are currently in the final negotiations about a rent reduction. The rent is therefore very likely to be even cheaper, but unfortunately I can't say anything definite about this at the moment.

Furnishings

The flat share naturally loses some of its furnishings with the new flatmates - but this also creates new design space. But we've already got lots of new things and everything is coming together :) - So it will still be cosy in the flat.

If you would like to bring something with you, we would of course be delighted. But otherwise everything important will be there :)
As I don't drink coffee, there's no coffee machine yet.
