Hello future Mieter*in!
Wir lernen immer noch Deutsch, also melden Sie bei uns auch auf Deutsch.
I like my apartment very much, but my colleague is leaving Jena and I have the chance to take over his
more expensive apartment (it has a balcony and my cats and plants would be soooo happy there!).
Therefore, I would like to move! I have been very busy at work and somehow it is already March 8 th and I
want to move out by the end of March…whoops! Hopefully there is someone in Jena who has also been
too busy and needs a flat.
About my house: It is a very affordable 450€ (Kaltmiete) for 50 sqm; there is a separate kitchen and
livingroom with their own doors. The kitchen is smallish, but it can fit a small table in addition to all the
appliances. The bedroom is large and faces east, lots of sun in the morning! It could easily fit a queen size
bed (bed for two) and a small bed for children. The living room has the sun in the evening. Each room has
nice wooden flooring and one single wall painted a lovely orange (from the previous tenants) that helps
make the rooms feel warm. Speaking of which, heat! Hot water is included, but electricity is roughly €50
a month, for a total rent of 500€ per month.
We also have clotheslines for our clothes to hang outside in the backyard, as well as clotheslines in the attic to hang clothes in the winter. Finally, you will also have access to a large Keller in the basement, where you
can store things, or use it as a workshop – we keep our brewing equipment down there!
We currently have two cats living in the flat (which will come with us, obviously), but since the
apartment is through Jena Wohnen, they are very reasonable and will let you have cats (as long as you
sign the correct paperwork, very German, hehehe). Also, they do not require a damage deposit or
Kaution, so that is sooo much easier. I believe you can ask for a parking space if you have a car. We do
not know our neighbours super well, but no problems either. Fortunately, there is a very nice person on
the ground floor who collects our packages (be sure to give him chocolate occasionally!).
In terms of the hand-over, unfortunately (or maybe fortunately if you have your own stuff), we would
like to take some of our stuff to our new place (my colleague it taking lots of his stuff, so we need to take
ours), so we would like to only leave the bathroom and some kitchen stuff (sink, cupboards, possibly
oven), so this would have to be something discussed.
If you have any questions or are interested in visiting the apartment, please let us know and we will
make an appointment. Unfortunately, we are NOT in Jena for this week 11 th – 17 th , but we would be very
willing to let people visit the following week, from March 18 th . Thanks and happy apartment hunting!

I think the location is ideal; it is two minute walk from the Lidl and Nordschule Straßenbahnhalt. It is
located on Camburger Straße which is a major road during rush hour commute times, but it is very quiet
at night and the bedroom is located on the backside of the building, overlooking a playground.
