American Moving to Berlin from Spain to Learn German

My name is Richard and I am a very responsible and clean American that has lived the last 5 years in Spain. I have a 22 kilo 11 year old very chill Husky Mix named Alobar (named from a book by Tom Robbins called Jitterbug Perfume - available in German - Highly recommended). I must find a place by Feb 1 but I can be flexible as far as how long I stay. I can stay one month or one year, depends on the place, location, etc.

I work from 3pm to 11:30PM due to the time difference so I would prefer to have my own flat but I would share a place with some roommates that could keep it down during those hours. I know Berlin has a nice night culture, but I am not the type to go out more than twice a month. I ran a non profit youth hostel on the St. James Way in Spain and I know the importance of keeping my space clean. I don't have a bed or anything so a furnished place would be ideal, but I don't mind if it is not, I can pick up some things, no problem. I roll one tobacco cigarette a day, I smoke two or three puffs and put it away for a couple hours, I will gladly not smoke inside, I like fresh air anyways.

In the mornings I plan to add to my Street Photography portfolio (caughtbykapp.com), walk my dog, study German and exercise. I love to cook (healthy/organic), watch movies and read. Learning is a hobby of mine, especially about people and cultures. I can't remember the last time I watched a television show, probably when I was visiting my mom in the states this last November.
