Hi,
I am renting out a 15m2 room (no furniture) in a beautiful, light and renovated Altbau Wohnung in Schoneberg. The room has a super nice bay window, high ceilings and Dielen on the floor. The rent is €700 including all bills for the room.
The flat has been renovated and I have been the first person to move in. There is some furniture in the flat, like the sofa in the lounge and there is a functional kitchen but the room that is free doesn't have any furniture, so you would need to bring or find your own. I have just done the same for my room and got most of it from Ebay Kleinanzeigen, so I am happy to help you with this.
The flat has a super nice and big living room. It also has a very big separate kitchen, so plenty of space to hang out in different rooms. Unfortunately, the bathroom is very small but it has a shower&toilet and has been newly been done, so its nice.
The contract for the flat for now is for 5 months from May - September, but ideally I would hope for someone to stay longer and ideally for up to 2 years. I am hoping to make this a proper home and would like someone to move in who is also looking to create a home together and make it super nice and comfy.
I've only lived in this flat / in Berlin for 2 weeks now so I am not an expert on the location - but the next station is Bayrischer Platz and it takes maybe 5min to walk. Also the 104 bus station is just around the corner.
I have found it super easy to get around
In walking distance you have an Edeka, Nahkauf and Penny as well as a Rossmann and at least 5 different Baecker
It takes about 15min to walk to the Schoeneberg kiez and there are lots of bars and restaurants (at least as far as I could see in Lockdown so far). I am definitely keen to get to know the area more, either walking, cycling and hopefully with a beer once places open up again
So far it is just me and I am very new to Berlin. I have lived in the UK for the past 7 years and while I am German I am still acclimatizing to Germany/German Lockdown life. I am 32, originally from Hamburg and have left Germany in 2008 so been away for a while. Im excited to get settled into the flat here, make it a home and venture out from here.
In London I worked in HR in a Museum and I am also a Yogateacher. In Berlin I am currently looking for work and expect to be back in a Monday-Friday job soon but for now I might be at home. In the future I will probably work in the office and some days from home.
I am really into exercising and like running, weight&hiit training, yoga and everything inbetween. I also always like to try some new sports and have gotten into hiking in the past year. There is always music on, wherever I go so I also play a lot of music in the flat. I am a little obsessed and can't wait for Berlin to open up to go to concerts. I like a huge range of music and always keen to learn more - do you have some Spotify playlists to share with me? You're at the right place.
In the evenings, I like to meet up with friends in bars/pubs or now at home. I also enjoy watching netflix or reading books and do like to chat - a lot- particularly over a couple beers. I also like to host so I am likely to invite friends over for a dinner or movie, or have friends stay for a weekend when possible.
I am very interested in social causes particularly in regard to equality, diversity and inclusion, like to talk about mental health, psychology, politics and meditation and it would be cool if the person who moves in has some interest in talking about these topics, too.
I am more of a morning person so I tend to be up around 7am and therefore go to bed before midnight, so it would be nice to find someone with a similar rythm as these Altbauwohnung aren't the best with noise.
The ideal flatmate is someone, who is looking to build a home in Berlin. Who is keen to hang out and chat when it suits and is open to join when I may have friends over and equally open for me to join them, when it makes sense, of course. Someone who likes music, has experience living in a shared-flat, is responsible, clean and has interest in recycling and sustainability.
Anmeldung is also possible for the flat. It would be great for someone to move in on 1 May, but I can be flexible.
When you message me, please write what your current favourite song is in the first sentence and why, so I know you read the whole thing ;) (i know its a lot). I would also be interested to hear a little bit more about you, what you care about and what is important to you when living together.
I am German so if you want to message me in German, please do!!
I'll set up viewings online/offline beginning of the week c/o 19 April.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Clara
