A room of 20 square metres, a large kitchen (32 sqm), a big garden and an annexe where a large room can be used for movie nights every now and then ;-). The room is equipped with a bed, carpet, a writing desk, a cupboard, a shelf and some additional small pieces of furniture.
5 minutes walking distance to S-Bahn Berlin-Mahlsdorf (Berlin AB). A fairly quiet area yet easy to reach by public transport, there are 2 supermarkets and restaurants within 5 few minutes walk, however, we mainly get our groceries from a regional bio box which we share on a weekly basis.
The plan is to share this fairly large house (5 rooms) as a WG of 3 or 4 people max. We used to be a WG of up to 5 during the summer, an international and generational mix of people between 19 and 54 yrs old, but with autumn coming and a new semester starting the younger bunch moved out and me, Elena, the eldest, is planning to set up a new, perhaps slightly smaller WG. I'm hoping for a WG where we'll occasionally cook together or for eachother, and share the occasional movie night, board game or political/philosophical discussion while everyone should also have their privacy, of course. I'm striving to pursue a sustainable live-style (I do eat meat but only very rarely, and only from regional farms; try to reduce the use of plastics and packages in general, and economize on ressources in as far as a detached house and a large garden allow me to do so).
The garden can be a lot of fun, especially during spring/summer; we grew our own vegetables, there is a table tennis table, etc. Enjoying the garden entails looking after it - you should be aware that this also takes time, and ideally you would enjoy "garden work". My mother tongue is German, I'm trying to learn French and to improve my Czech that had grown rusty lately. In the past, this was a mainly English-speaking, international WG and I'm curious what new setting that will work out.
This is an old house which was renovated keeping features like old wooden windows and doors. Maintenance requires a certain degree of care, e.g. letting the air circulate on a regular basis. The rise in costs for heating (our heating and warm water are based on gas) makes it necessary to economize. Costs will be made transparent and fair ways of sharing them discussed together. Registration/Anmeldung is possible.
If you want to be sure to get an answer, please write (in addition to please writing about yourself ;-)) a bit about what exactly appeals to you about the place/this WG, and please do check whether S-Bahnhof Berlin-Mahlsdorf is in a realistic distance from where you'll have to commute.
