Händel-WG is looking for you! (German students ONLY)

Händel-Wohnheim is located in Herdern, by bike its only 10 min to the Altstadt. Herdern is a cute and quite neighborhood, perfect for a little walk. The Zähringerpark is very close by where you can play tabletennis and football or simply hang around. Nature like the Liebelingswiese is easily accessible. Händel-Wohnheim has a garden and a big community with lots of different offers to engage with the other people around and have some fun while doing Yoga, playing Volleyball and lots of other things you can think of:) Several supermarkets are within a 5-minute walk, as is the Okenstrasse train station.

Soo the most exciting part: the people you will live with!

We are Sandi, Marvin, Eray, Anna-Maria, Arjun and Babsi + YOU:)

Anna-Maria (23) is from Northern Ireland, and just started studying Liberal Arts and Sciences. She has a lot of interests, so you might find her somewhere in nature, playing music, meeting friends, or in the kitchen after forgetting to cook and then making avocado toast, again.

Marvin (27?) is the comedian in the flat. He thinks he is very funny and most of the time we all have to agree. If you want to connect with him you should definitely like birds and thus hate cats as well as talk to him about his statistics tutorial. If you need someone to fix you bike, Marvin is the one to ask!

Sandie (23) favorite dish to make is Kartoffelgratin. You will often hear her laughing in the kitchen or find her doing some art stuff. If something's missing in the flat it's probably Sandi that took it to one of her classes.

Arjun (29) aka chef makes the most delicious Indian food ever. Also he can play nearly every kind of instrument and even produces music himself. He is the one that will make sure that you do your cleaning task;)

Eras is the newest in our flat and most definitely the tallest. You will cross paths with him at the oddest times of day (or night), mostly in the kitchen where he often prepares pasta 🍝 Being in Erasmus he will sadly leave us again soon.

Babsi(22) is a social soul. If you want to make her happy Arjuns food is definitely the way to go. Her shoes like to pile up in front of her door and her room looks better being very chaotic. She is very busy but nevertheless will find the time to complain about work or uni or have a good laugh with you in the kitchen.

It is important to us that we take care of each other. You'll always find someone in the WG who will listen to you. So you should definitely be looking for a home, someone who wants a Zweck-WG doesn't fit in with us. The kitchen is our meeting place: We don't just cook and eat here, but above all we talk. If you want to see someone, go to the kitchen! We are all very busy with our lives, so planned meetings where everyone is present are rather rare, so be spontaneous! If you want to eat together, then go to the kitchen and see who's eating with you; if you want to watch a movie, then ask who's there and look at the movie list to see which movie is on next. If you have any other ideas, suggest them and there will always be someone who is up for it:D

In short: You fit if...
- You like being with people and are open to different things
- If you don't just want to surround yourself with German potatoes
- If you want to live in a colorful shared flat where you can also diligently hang/plant/glue/grow things/whatever you can think of
- If you want to get involved and be there for others, but don't have to give up your life to do so
-If you can deal with a little chaos but still stick to the cleaning schedule

We are an international flat, therefore it is really important that you can speak English, your casting will be in English as well:) Needless to say, we do not tolerate any kind of racism, sexism or homophobia, discrimination, etc.- if you want to be our flatmate it should go without saying that you are open-minded and enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds, cultures, etc.

As we are living in a studentdorm we have to stick to certain rules. That's why, unfortunately, we can only cast German students as potential flatmates. We are sorry if you are not German or a student, but then we cannot consider you and therefore will not answer.

Moreover your time in the dorm is limited to three years. There are ways to get an extention but normally thats the time you will stay as a maximum.

We cannot force you to stay three years, but if you already know that your going abroad or move away in the next year, please be honest with us. As the people living in the international rooms only have 1 or 2 semesters, there is a constant change of people in the flat, so we prefer the Germans living here to stay longer.
