Hello dear apartment seekers!
I will start a 3months internship in Berlin. In the meantime I would subleasemy room in the Altstadt of Freiburg
You would be living with Katie, Luz, Clara and Defne. Our apartment is located directly in the city center, near Augustinerplatz. Aldi, Edeka, Rewe, Alnatura and a few international markets are a 5-10 minute walk away, the university library is 5 minutes from here. The train station is a 10-minute walk. Since our apartment does not have any windows facing the street, we get almost no noise from the street.
Nevertheless, it is very quiet at our place, you can’t hear the street noise inside. If you like long hallways and sinks directly in your room, you've come to the right place.
Apartment: Our apartment consists of a long hallway, at the beginning of which is our small living room (where the hallway is wider) with dining table, a small but fine kitchen, a toilet, a bathroom with a shower, another toilet and our 5 rooms. There is a sink in each room.
Room: The room is about 18m² in size, is located next to the kitchen and fridges (of advantage if you like to snack), gets a lot of sun during the afternoon (not directly but it has big windows) and would be furnitured (bed, sofa, wardrobe, desk). I will of course removemy personal belongings.
WG Life
We have a sweet international atmosphere and the common language is English (sometimes with strong and sometimes not so strong accent, so don't worry if your English is not the best).
Luz, will talk to you in English or Spanish, finished her Master in Linguistics, is working as a tourguide, likes rats and fried food; taught me the art of coexisting (sitting on your sofa playing video games)
Katie, will also talk to you in English or french, finishing her Master in Linguistics, working as a tour manager (sometimes guide), likes to cook or bake delicious things, has an iron if you need one and an open ear if you need one
Clara, is writing her master's thesis in ethnology. The first to get the board games out after eating. Currently lives with one foot in Freiburg, with the other in Frankfurt
Defne, into Horror, books and coffee; has already found her favourite spot in our WG where she watches the flies (outside our flat of course) proliferate.
Our shared apartment life takes place mostly at the kitchen table; Most of the times we are busy dealing with organizing our life and various jobs. We try to organize a WG meeting 1x a week. From time to time we cook together and discuss organizational topics. Open communication and addressing problems are important to us. Here everyone should have the feeling that they can express their opinion and not be left alone with the problems in the shared flat or from the outside world. Since we have different needs in some things such as sleep rhythms or party moods, we try to take care of each other and find solutions that everyone is happy with.
