Two Friendly Students Looking for a Feel-Good-Community

Hallo!

We are Emery and Maria. I come from the U.S.A and Maria is German. 😊
Maria is 25 years old and is studying forestry in the 5. bachelor semester in Göttingen. I am 27 and will be taking German A2 intensive courses and then hopefully starting a bachelor’s degree in fall as well!

We are very open, humorous and respectful people and an honest and constructive style of communication is essential for us. Our hobbies are wide ranging and include the outdoors, hiking, backpacking, climbing, mountaineering, skiing, paddling etc…. We enjoy books, movies (Currently working on the serious “Dark”) and of course extended discussions about just about anything over some coffee or an alcoholic beverage. 😉 I love board games, and some videogames, and Maria loves music, concerts and social outings (when that sort of thing was acceptable).

Ideally, we are looking for a shared space with fun social people that are as happy to chat and hangout as we are (where else can we get real social interaction right now haha). We will be spending a lot of our time on the computer for as long as COVID has in person classes closed, but are always down for shared meals, cooking, boardgame or movie nights, and whatever else comes to mind.
A room that’s ~18 m^2 big and upwards or maybe two rooms would be great. (I’m hesitant to set the room size too high, as really you guys are most important. 😊) We are looking for something starting 1.2.2021 or 1.3.2021, a short-term rental until the end of August or September would also be okay for us.

We have both been taking the COVID situation very seriously and have been restricting our contacts heavily and always wear masks when outside the house. (I was of course tested after arriving in Germany from the states.)

I know some people are hesitant to accept couples, but rest assured that we are VERY respectful and can promise that we do not argue loudly or create tense environments. We have been together for many years and get along amazingly well even through difficult situations. We are clean and have no issues communicating anything that might come up including community tasks etc.

We are both social and outgoing but are not looking for a party atmosphere especially now with the current COVID situation.

Fun Facts about us:

We first met 4 years ago in the U.S. on a 2 month trip in my van!
Maria lived and worked on a ranch in Canada and guided horse trips for over a year.
I only moved to Germany a few weeks ago.
Maria can drive a tractor better than most people drive a car.
I spent four seasons as a Ranger in the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon where there is the highest concentration of waterfalls out of anywhere in the States.
We love goats.
