Gut situierte 5er WG

Unsere Wohnung liegt ganz in der Nähe des Cheltenhamparks, ein bisschen

südöstlich des Innenstadtwalls. Die Lage ist wirklich toll, es ist nur ein Katzensprung sowohl in die Innenstadt als auch zu den Schillerwiesen und zum Stadtwald. Zur Uni braucht es keine 10 min mit dem Fahrrad und Rewe, Kaufland etc. sind auch alle fußläufig zu erreichen!
Ansonsten ist die Wohngegend eher ruhig, und die Straße stört auch nur manchmal wenn mensch im Garten chillt ein bisschen. Über uns und im Souterrain wohnen noch WGs, im Erdgeschoss wohnt noch eine Einzelperson. Außerdem gibt es noch eine Yoga-Praxis, das Büro der Hausverwaltung und eine Psychotherapie im Haus. Alle Nachbar*innen sind sehr lieb, ab und an kommt es auch zu der ein oder anderen Party im Haus, zu der natürlich alle eingeladen sind. Alles in allem ist es aber meistens recht ruhig im Haus.

Our apartment is very close to the Cheltenhampark, a bit southeast of the inner city wall. The location is really great, it is close to the city center as well as to the Schillerwiesen (another pretty park) and the forest. It takes less than 10 minutes by bike to get to the university and supermarkets like Rewe, Kaufland etc. are all within walking distance.
Otherwise, the residential area is rather quiet, and the street disturbs only sometimes a little bit when we hang out in the garden. The flats above us and in the basement are also flat shares, on the first floor lives a single person. There is also a yoga studio, the office of our land lord and a psychotherapy in the house. All the neighbors are very nice, and from time to time there is a party in the house, to which everyone is invited, of course. All in all, however, it is usually quite quiet in the house.

Jetzt das wichtigste: die WG!
Wir sind zu fünft: Sophia (sie), Al (er), Konni (em/konni), Eti (sie/ihr) und Lily (sie/ ihr). Lily ist gerade im ERASMUS und Eti wohnt gerade zur Zwischenmiete bei uns. Die Wg wurde im letzten Sommer gegründet, und wir sind richtig froh einander gefunden zu haben! Bis auf Al (der ist Musiker) sind wir eine Studi-WG, wir studieren entweder verschiedenes sozial- oder geisteswissenschaftliches und Medizin. Daneben sind wir alle mal mehr mal weniger stark in
Lohnarbeit und Kollektiven sowie Politgruppen eingebunden. Alle Mitbewohnis machen gern und viel Musik bei uns.
Obwohl wir alle viel unterwegs sind gibts auch quality time. Oft findet die dann eher abends nach gekochtem Abendessen und bei einer Runde Karten in der Küche statt, oder morgens bevor es in die Uni geht. Wir machen einmal im Monat ein WG-Plenum bei dem alles besprochen wird was so ansteht, fragen und anliegen geklärt werden können. :). Wir kaufen aus einer gemeinsamen Kasse ein, haben seit kurzem eine Solawi, kochen vegetarisch und haben Kühlschrank-Kommunismus. Das wird aber nicht ultra streng durchgezogen, also wenn du mal essen für dich haben willst oder Fleisch kochen möchtest - you do you & communication rules!
ordnung halten wir durch einen Putzplan und eine "Repro-Liste", womit wir bis jetzt ganz zufrieden sind.
Alle in der WG sprechen Englisch, Al lernt gerade noch Deutsch. Deshalb wäre es super wenn du dich wohlfühlen würdest in WG-Kontexten manchmal auch Englisch zu sprechen. Ansonsten sind vereinzelt noch Arabisch-, Französisch-, Italienisch- und Griechisch-Kenntnisse vorhanden.

Now the most important thing: the roommates and our life in the flat!
There are five of us, or actually six: Sophia (she/her), Al (he/him), Konni (they/konni), Eti (she/her) and Lily (she/her). Lily is currently in spain for a ERASMUS semester and Eti is living in her room for this time. The WG was founded last summer, and we are really happy to have found each other! Except for Al (he's a musician) we are students, we study either different social sciences, liberal arts or medicine. Besides that we are all involved in wage work and collectives and political groups. All of the flatmates like to make music.
Although we are all have a lot to do, we make sure to spend time together. Often, we come together in the evenings. We cook dinner or play cards in the kitchen. Or we meet up in the morning before going to university. Once a month we have a meeting where we discuss everything that is going on. we by groceries from a ‘kitty’, recently joined the Solawi, cook vegetarian and share all the food. But this is not strictly enforced, so if you want to have food for yourself or cook meat - you do you & we love a good communication!
We also have a cleaning schedule and a "repro list" to keep things tidy.
Everyone in the flat speaks English, Al is still learning German. Therefore it would be great if you would feel comfortable to speak English sometimes in the flat. Apart from that, some of us have Arabic, French, Italian and Greek skills.
