The room has two large windows facing the street (Zeiseweg). Wooden floorboards and the ceiling is high. It is the biggest room in the flat share, even with a double bed there is a large amount of space. The second bedroom (my room) shares a wall with the room I am offering. The room is unfurnished.
Transport connections are good. The S-bahn station Holstenstraße is a 5 min walk away. Altona-Bahnhof is 10 mins or less by bus. Aldi, Edeka, and Bio-markt 3 min walk away. There is a park across the street, a cute bar called Aalhaus on the corner of the block, and the neighborhood is quiet.
The flat share is for two people total ( I would be the only other flatmate). My name is Alberto and I am studying a masters in climate physics at Uni Hamburg. I am from Berkeley, California and I moved to Hamburg about two years ago. The sublease could start as early as October 1 and the rent is 515 euro including internet, electricity and water. I don't speak much German but I'm happy to make an effort and to get better. I also speak Italian.
Flat share life is pretty easygoing. It would be nice to make some meals together/hang out sometimes, also just to check in with how living together is going. I go out often and I try not to be home too much. When I am home I just cook or hang out in my room reading. My main concern is that we keep the apartment clean and in good condition. The apartment does not need to be spotless but I would recommend we keep to a weekly cleaning schedule, each of us cleaning the kitchen, toilet, and shower every other week thoroughly. I don't care how you keep your room as long as it's not a health hazard or disgusting.
The toilet and shower are in separate rooms, which is ideal for flat-sharing, and the kitchen is large enough for a handful of people to be in there hanging out.
There is a third smaller room in the apartment that could be turned into a chill room with maybe a coffee table and a few chairs and a couch. We could maybe figure this out as a project together.
I'm happy to answer any further questions about the room, apt, or location. I look forward to hearing from you!
Have a great day :)
