As an international WG, we (Dani and James) tend to speak English together. That's why this post is in English, but we don't expect your English to be perfect. Applications in German are welcome, as long as you're willing to be patient with James's bad German sometimes.
Our beloved flatmate is moving out. So we are looking for a new person to share our home with!
The room is 18 square meters, facing a big, nice tree and a relatively quiet street. The flat is on the second floor of an "Altbau" and your room has some nice "Stuck" on the ceiling.
The kitchen is big & equipped with a kitchen sofa, a dishwasher & everything for cooking nice meals.
The rent includes internet & a shared veggie box that we get every week. As we both do not eat meat, we would prefer if the kitchen remained vegetarian.
We are a three minute walk from the 13 bus, or a short bike ride from S-bahn Veddel. Penny is five minutes away by foot, and Stübenplatz ten. We are also right next to the canal, which is great for walks, picnics & kayaking.
We are dating, so that makes us technically a couple. However, we do not want the "couple WG" feeling. We often cook together, and we would like someone who enjoys sharing a meal, playing a game, or just sitting in the kitchen talking. So it would be nice to live together, not only next to each other.
And to all of that: Guests are welcome, but this is not a "Party-WG". We are also actively queer friendly and anti-racist.
Dani is an art therapist who enjoys making art herself, riding her bicycle, and kayaking. James in an economist and nerd who drinks too much coffee and complains about the politics in his homeland (Tennessee), but is also learning guitar to become closer to his homeland.
Regarding language: James speaks bad German, but he is learning. Dani's German is quite good, but she is sometimes hard to understand when talking to her Austrian parents. We're both pretty good at English.
If all of the above sounds appealing to you & you wanna enjoy Wilhelmsburg too, write us and tell us about yourself!
We appreciate a few lines about who you are, interests, and maybe even your favorite ice cream flavor.
We will invite a handful of people in the coming weeks for a tour of the flat and a quick chat to see if we click. We look forward to your message!
