British student at Cologne University looking for a room

I am looking for a nice room near Cologne/Bonn, as I will be studying a masters in environmental science at the university of cologne. The place would ideally be furnished (but unfurnished is ok too), with internet access, and with access to cooking/laundry facilities. The maximum I can pay is approximately 350-400 per month, but the cheaper the better. As I am finding it difficult to get a room because I'm not in Germany yet...I am happy to take either a short term or long term place, and anywhere within about 45 minutes from cologne (So Bonn/Bruhl is fine, as I also have friends there).

Well I am English (originally from York). Life is one long adventure, and I look to always try and make the most of every opportunity that comes my way. I have always had a love of nature, history, museums, guitar, football, and long countryside walks, whilst travel is also very important to me having already been to various places in Europe and South East Asia.

Being a fairly sporty person, I play/watch football regularly (Big Liverpool fan!) and go running quite often, whilst I also play the guitar (acoustic/electric/bass) and am particularly interested in history, nature and reading.
