We are looking for a FLINTA (which stands for women (de: Frauen), lesbians, intersex, non-binary, trans, agender) person in our flatshare. If you happen to be on the Jobcentre, this place is Jobcentre-friendly. You can move in starting 01.10.
The flat is located on the top floor of an old building, overlooking the river, a park and a busy street, though it is not as noisy as you may think. Your future room is spacious and cosy, on the northern side of the building, but you have a bit of evening sunlight. You can sit right near the window on a cute wooden construction (see on the picture). In the flat there are two bathrooms (one with a bathtub, another with a shower), so you never have to wait for anyone :) Both are relatively newly renovated. We use our kitchen with a cool couch as a living room too. We have a dishwasher, a microwave, a washing machine. There’s a basement and an attic to store things and a place to put your bike in the backyard.
Our flat is perfectly located on the border of the city centre (Wasserviertel). It takes 10 minutes to walk to the train station and Am Sande, 2 minutes to get to the Stint, 20 minutes to uni by bike, 5 minutes to Penny (which is really nice if you forgot to go shopping and its already 21:30) and 15 minutes to Lidl, Aldi and Kaufland (on foot). A lake, the Kreidebergsee, is very close by which is fantastic for swimming and walks.
We live together like close friends and love spending time together, but respect each other’s privacy and need for alone time. We have a cleaning plan so everyone has their tasks, which we follow but we still always communicate our capacities and help each other, if necessary. We also share some basic groceries. Often, you will also meet our friends in our kitchen and you are very welcome to bring your people along too.
But now, lets introduce your new flat mates in order you see their rooms when you come in.
Henry (mostly he/him, occasionally she/her): I’m a Ukrainian refugee waiting for an integration course. My German is okay for very basic daily conversations, but I’m far from fluent, so I usually speak English. I’m mostly at home, playing computer games, reading, writing, listening to phonk or hanging out with some friends I have. I was a tutor once, so I can teach you some Ukrainian or English, if you want :) Most of the time I’m really talkative and fun.
I am Thalia (she/her) and I study cultural studies with a focus on literary studies at the Leuphana university. To add some spice, I am neurodivergent and trans. I love to make coffee for my flatmates and I am always open for talking while enjoying some hot drink. It is important to me to communicate boundaries and I always try my best in doing so, because I sometimes need some me-time. I still love to do activities with my flatmates, from boardgame and videogame evenings, to pen and paper and adventures outside in nature. I am very interested in everything fantasy (some might even call me an elf), so I love reading fantasy books and get inspired to become creative myself. At the moment I want to learn creative writing and film photography.
I am Linn (she/her). I am studying environmental science, but for the most time I am doing a lot of different things. I am a scout, I care for a lot of plants with more or less success, I read, play boardgames, go on walks and try to identify every bird and plant I see. In general, I love to be outside and hike, swim, dive, surf (well not in Lüni obvsly) and so on.
Moreover, I am interested in anticapitalist, anticolonialist and intersectional feminist themes and love to engage in discussions or pure rants on the state of the world on random evenings with a glass of wine or apple tea in our kitchen.
The last room can be someone’s, who matches our ✨vibe✨
