The flat is situated at the border between Hechtsheim and Oberstadt. The Walking distance to the next grocery store (REWE) is 3 minutes, it is right on the other side of the road. The nearest bus and tram station (Kurmainzkaserne) is within 2-3 minutes walking distance. There is a direct tram connection from this station to the university(Line 53). A Tram for said connection arrives every 15 minutes and the Tram ride takes 12-15 minutes to university. Tram connections to the city center and Mainz main station are available every 5-10 minutes, with the Tram reaching city center within 10-12 minutes. Additionally there are various bus connections to and from the Kurmainzkaserne station. Unlike many other Stations in Mainz, the Kurmainzkaserne station even has an hourly connection to the city center/Main station at night between 1 am and 6 am.

Since two of us (including myself) have moved out recently, your only flatmate right now is a university student from Belarus in his early twenties. He is friendly and calm, we got along well and i assume you will too. I don't want to give too detailed information about him in this public setting, out of respect for his privacy. How life with your roommates will be of course depends on how you get along with them, since i don't live there anymore i can't make any promises, but in my three years there it always worked out well. Some of my roommates became close friends, others were just generally friendly people sharing the common area with me. What kind of relationship you have with your future roommates is entirely in your hands.through the dorm bar and other common areas of the dorm as well as various events it is easy to socialize and find friends within the dorm community.
