3rd Room in Shared Apartment - Maxvorstadt - Small Room but Large Living Room - Internationals are welcome! (no German required)
The apartment has 4 rooms on the raised ground floor, covering 77 square meters. Two rooms are currently occupied, and a room of approximately 11-12 square meters will be available from March 1, 2024. The room's window faces to the quiet courtyard and effectively isolates sound from the sparsely traveled one-way street. In addition to your room, there is a shared living room of about 18 square meters, and you are welcome to contribute to its furnishings/decoration. Currently, we have a sofa, television, board game collection, a dining table and a large book shelf in the living room. The kitchen is also spacious enough for all three residents to comfortably cook or sit at the second dining table.
The apartment is well-equipped with a kitchen, including a dishwasher, oven, and KitchenAid, as well as a new Siemens refrigerator and a new Miele washing machine. Additionally, the apartment has its own cellar compartment in case you need a new home for your precious bicycles or wine collection ;) The building is home to a diverse mix of residents, including shared apartments, young couples, and families.
The apartment is located very centrally in Maxvorstadt on a quiet one-way street. The Theresienstraße subway station (U2, U8) is just a few steps away, and the University station (U3, U6) is approximately 10 minutes away. Additionally, there is a bus (153/154) that goes there. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the city center. There are resident parking spaces in front of the house.
The English Garden is approximately 15 minutes away, and the university district and the Technical University campus start right at the doorstep. The shopping options in the area are very good, with many choices within <5 minutes' distance. Most importantly, we have a farmer's market nearby on every Tueday.
I, Nils, am 26 years old, just finished my Master's in Computer Science at TUM and work as a Computer Vision Researcher in a start-up in Munich. I enjoy cycling, both road biking and mountain biking, and ideally would like to venture into the mountains at least once every other weekend, though it hasn't been working out so well so far :D. At home, I like to cook elaborate meals, invite friends over for dinner, or engage in solving the world's problems after a few bottles of wine. I almost always prefer a pasta party, board game marathon, or wine with a cheese platter over a night out partying. I would describe myself as very friendly and easy-going, hoping to expand the shared living space with someone like-minded.
And I'm Laura, 23, studying Management and Technology at TUM. I also work part-time for a consulting start-up. I have been doing ballet for more than a decade now and I danced some Jazz and Modern as well and want to find a new group here in Munich. Every now and then, I take my VW Golf to the mountains to go skiing or hiking. In summer one of my all time favourite activities is playing Kniffel on a picknick blanket in the English Garden. This year, I would like to get good at tennis. Let me know if you are pro and willing to teach! I'd describe myself as adventurous, open, and friendly :-)
We are looking for an open, humorous, and perhaps equally outdoor-loving roommate who already has experience living in a shared space. Our coexistence is already influenced by occasional shared cooking, enjoying a glass of wine, watching movies, or going somewhere over the weekend, and we would be delighted if you joined us, whenever it fits into your schedule.
If you're interested, please send us a request and write a few lines about yourself, your expectations for shared living, and how you spend your days. Be precise so that we can get a good understanding of you. If you want, you can include a link to your social media, but it's certainly not mandatory. Above your message name three memorable facts about yourself. Additionally, present your favourite vegetable in no more than a three line essay. (We have to read hundreds of messages. This makes it more fun for us ;D)
We are exclusively looking for people who plan to move in long-term, not just for a semester. The lease starts on March 1, 2023. Moving-in may be possible a few days before. In your case, the lease agreement is a sublease from Nils with standard conditions. Pets are not allowed.
Viewings will take place *in-person* next week (Jan 8-12). No online-viewing. (Reason: We never picked someone from the online candidates and we don't want to waste your time.)
Utility costs are currently high but are expected to decrease soon. We have been consuming very little so far. The room will be unfurnished.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask right away.
We look forward to your messages :)
Greetings,
Nils & Laura
PS. We translated this add with ChatGPT. Forgive us the weird wording sometimes :D
