The room is about ~23m2. Unfurnished but open to selling some of the furniture. You have a two windows with plenty of sunshine coming in, lovely wooden floor and ceiling that you can hang plants from. Right next to our bigger bathroom and a door separates it from the living area/kitchen so all the quietness you might need for a good sleep.
The flat is located right above the Schoppershof metro station (U2 line going to the airport or Hbf), thus walking to the metro takes less than a minute. Metro to the city center or airport takes about 10minutes. A Rewe and Norma (supermarkets) are also 1minute away. The Stadtpark is very close as well, less than 10minutes walking distance. There are multiple bars and restaurants near by, offering a wide variety of food (from local food to sushi to excellent Mexican food etc.).
*Important notice:* Since not everyone in the apartment speaks good German please do address us in English :)
Unforuntately I'm leaving the flat for my next professional adventure in Munich, so we are are in need of a new flatmate.
The flat consists of a very open, fun and friendly bunch, both German and international.
There are one German and one Welsh guy as well as one Italian and one girl from a sunny island and we communicate mainly in English. What you can be assured of is inclusion and open communication. The flat has a history of hosting amazing parties, hangouts and activities together and with larger groups (before covid). Let me break down the vibe a bit more by introducing the flatmates:
Alex - the Welsh storyteller, tennis enthusiasts/coach & adidas developer. This guy will have you laughing in seconds and might pull your leg a few times with his stories and jokes. He is a hard working man, with a busy schedule from coaching to work and sports, but loves to spend any spare time socializing and having a couple of drinks at any time.
Chris - the curious explorer / business man. He was part of the original tenants of the flat and comes from Nuremberg. He will tell you anything of the city and the flat you might want to know. He has lived across the globe and brings cultural experience from South America and Asia and loves to talk about traveling and new ideas. He loves kite surfing, sailing, swimming and speciality coffee is always keen to try out something new as well!
Shreshta - the first girl in the flat and survived brilliantly till today. She was born on an undisclosed sunny island but spent most of her adult life in rainy Manchester. Another developer at adidas, you will probably find her sewing her own summer dresses and asking you to take photos of her in them. She loves arts and culture, travels and raving to (not even) good techno and will speak French to you if you annoy her enough to do so.
Carol - our most recent addition, she recently started at Reebok (formerly part of, well, adidas) and comes from the North of Italy. Expect her to have strong opinions on how pizza&pasta have to be cooked, roam the woods around Nuremberg on her MTB or travel the country or experience culture around town!
Some more details to the flat:
From our experience, tidiness in the communal areas and proactivity and communications are key to a great co-living experience.
The sauna can be used at any time, though as agreed with the flat - you should chip in 2 euros to the common fund for each use to avoid high electricity bills.
Likely music taste you will hear around the house: classic jazz mornings (when Chris brews his fresh morning coffee), UK grime (when Alex has a spare moment in the living room), electronic music (from disco vibes to techno in the evenings).
Since we're all working (at least) full-time we have recently hired a cleaning person, the cost is shared between all the flatmates.
You can contact me (Pascal) for viewings (in person or via video call).
The start date of renting is negotiable (date range could be beginning or mid September).
Furniture costs are negotiable (let me know what you prefer to keep).
