English version below!
Kennenlernen ausmachen.
Ich freue mich auf deine Anfrage!

The room is in a penthouse apartment (6th floor with elevator) and the room is 15 sq.m, very bright with 2 large windows. The pictures have lots of furniture in the room, but it will be unfurnished, with the exception of the small nightstand and the larger of the two clothing racks if you want to use them. The windows are facing northeast so there is direct sunlight in the morning but there are thick window shades so you can still sleep in well. There isn't a living room, as I'm taking that over as my bedroom, but the kitchen is relatively big, with a large table and corner bench which can fit a lot of people. The cooking part of the kitchen itself is also very big and open and can easily accommodate multiple people cooking together at once. There is a dishwasher, stove and oven, large fridge/freezer (almost american sized!) and a portable air conditioner all included here. The entry way has a larger closet and storage space, so theres enough room for lots of shoes and jackets. Immediately straight into the apartment from the entry way is the lone bathroom, which has the toilet, shower, washing machine, and sink. There is also an 18 sq.m roof terrace/balcony which is accessible via my room, but as I'm a relatively open and friendly person who likes to have friends around, that shouldn't be a problem for me for you to walk through my room to use it. You are free to use this (nearly) anytime, and could sure use some more plants from you ;)
Otherwise, the apartment is very bright and your room is facing the street, but since it's a small gasse there isn't much traffic and I've never had a problem with noise.
The apartment is on Staudgasse in the 18th district (Währing), a little bit westward from the Gürtel (15 min walking). It's therefore relatively quiet and greener, with lots of parks nearby (Türkenschanz 10 min and Lidlpark 5 min walking). It's still well connected with central Vienna, as the 40/41 and 41 Trams are all very close. I usually buy my groceries as Eurospar which is on the next block and only about 2 mins away, but there is also a Billa not too much further, and Hofer a little further than that.
There are several bars and restaurants nearby, I've only been to 2-3 of them as I'm usually going to other places in the city.
I'm Cole, a 30 year old US-American from Minnesota who's been living in Vienna for 6 years. I'm a working professional and busy Mo-Fr usually from about 8:30-18h either in the office or at home. Ideally you are working too, or an older student, as I find the WG life to be better fitting when were at a similar level/lead a similar lifestyle. I'm a rather open and social person and like meeting and doing things with new people (although I do have my alone times too). It's important for me not to live as a Zweck-WG where there's only minimal social contact, and like it when we can do things outside of the apartment, not just the occasional beer in the kitchen (although that's nice too!). This doesn't mean I expect us to constantly doing something together, of course your room and the apartment can also be your sanctuary to chill out when you need your alone time. I'm working fulltime so the apartment is usually quite chill during the week anyway, but you should also be ok with me having a couple friends over for jam sessions 1-2 a week (and the occasional drinking get-together).
In my free time I'm usually hanging with friends somewhere or at home, and sometimes then we'll go out, go to concerts, or go skateboarding. I like to play sports, mostly for me it's hockey and tennis, but I always like trying something new. I'm a typical craft beer snob but also enjoy the great selection of traditional austrian beer. Other than that I'm usually doing something musical. Currently the jam sessions I'm doing are mostly electronic and involve lots of hardware synths and drum machines, etc., but my background is more in stringed instruments, and have a guitar, banjo, and piano in my room, which I like to play as well. I'm always trying to do more stuff outdoors, and will gladly go on walks or hiking, and am currently considering getting a mountain bike to get out more.
Otherwise, I often like to leave my comfort zone and am always down to try something new, whatever it is. When there's something fun going on, it's very hard for me to say no!
If you have any questions about me or the apartment, please don't hesitate to ask. If you are interested just write a little bit about yourself and then maybe we can arrange a visit to see the apartment/get to know each other.
Looking forward to your messages!
