Flatmate with community spirit wanted! We are currently 5 international adults and 3 children and are looking for one or two more persons to join our newly built cluster apartment in Sonnwendviertel Ost (Emilie-Flöge Weg 3).
The total living space is approximately 300m2, and each of the 6 individual units is around 34m2. In each of the 6 units there is an ensuite bathroom and connections for an optional kitchen. The walls in between the units are sound proof. In the shared area, there is a large kitchen, a living room, a balcony, a loggia, a bathroom with a bathtub, and a laundry room. The cluster has a loft character: 4,2 m high with roughly half of the surface split level. The bathrooms are furnished (7 in total, the shared one is adapted for wheelchair users), the rest of the furniture and equipment we are organising and building by ourselves. I can send two short films showing the apartment from inside upon request.
We moved at the beginning of November, one unit is still free.
The rent per unit is a reasonable 598€, with a cooperative share (Genossenschaftsanteil) of 20.126€. The share will be returned when you decide to move out.
We split the maintenance costs, which we estimate for max. 50€/person/month.
Minimum rental period is 12 months (+3 months quit period/Kündigungsfrist). We are very transparent with the costs - it wasn't possible to type a 5-digits sum to the form above.
The area Sonnwendviertel Ost is thought as a pedestrian area, with bikes allowed. Shops, cafes, community initiatives, Boulderbar, car rental. Cars can only enter from the side and park in a multi storey parking just around the corner. Delivery of big items by car is permitted.
7 minutes walk to Hauptbahnhof, U1 metro station and suburban trains (S-Bahn).
3 minutes away to Helmut Zilk Park, a lovely recreation area.
We are a group consisting of a family of four (Austria/Belgium), a part-time mom from USA with her daughter, a Polish lady and a Brazilian-Italian guy.
Franziska is a professional group process facilitator, a sociable soul and a dedicated mother. Gilles is an experienced manager, constructor in wood and a caring father. Mary is an artist and a biologist and a loving mother, knows how to build a kitchen, does a lot of sports. Anna has just graduated in international relations, loves working with people and arranging apartments. Cadu is a designer, can fix everything and loves to make you laugh. The tree children enjoy spending time together.
What unites us is the desire for more community while keeping enough private space. For gender balance, we would slightly prefer male candidates. Let us know if you have partners, children or pets, so that we can find an optimal arrangement.
We wish to have the possibility to chill and talk on
a huge sofa, to cook and eat together from time to time, to play together. But we have to build the kitchen first :)
The cluster apartment is located in a new building, accomplished in June 2023. It is a low energy building, with solar panels and floor heating. Here is the community website: www.amstadtbalkon.wien.
In the building there are plenty of common areas: a sauna, a communal room, a workshop, a terrace, a washroom and a bicycle parking. Furthermore, in the basement, there will be a children's climbing wall.
We moved in in November and wish to find a matching person for the remaining room soon in order to further grow together.
