The whole apartment is super bright and so is your room. It's high ceilinged, has got wood flooring and is approximately 22sqm. It does come unfurnished and we can figure out the deposit situation once you've checked out the place. It's got two big windows which face a dead end street, so there's basically no direct traffic right in front, though you will hear the noise from the cars on the Gürtel and the subway.
To get to your room, you'll have to walk about two meters distance through mine. My bed will be behind heavy curtains, so it's just gonna look like some sort of hallway. I am definitely not sensitive to noise, so don't worry about having to tip-toe through the apartment because of that.
The place is just a two minute walk (depending on traffic light timing) from the subway station U6 Währinger Strasse/Volksoper, the tram #40, #41 #42, the Nightbus line N41 and the bus line 40A. So, it's super quick to get further up into the 18th district to the quieter Cottage District and the Türkenschanzpark but also just a less than 15 minute trip to get into the 1st district or to the Mariahilfer Strasse. To reach the Museumsquartier, it will just take you about 22 minutes.
For groceries, there are a bunch of stores within walking distance, and so is the Währinger Strasse which is lined with stores.
For universities - BoKu, Vienna's Med School and the University of Vienna are all reachable within 10 to 15 minutes by public transport, and even faster by bicycle. To get to the TU, the WU or the VetMed you'll have to expect a 25 to 35 minute commute.
All in all, I love the location of the apartment! You just shouldn't be super sensitive to traffic noise, so you can love it just as much as I do.
Full disclosure - I have a cat.
Her name's Mausi, she's almost three years old, super chill, doesn't shed much and doesn't destroy anything, but has a weird obsession with sweaty clothes. So, just a heads up, maybe make sure to put your gym clothes directly into the laundry basket, otherwise they will be made love to.
If you're first reaction to reading "I have a cat" was something along the lines of urgh and eww though, then maybe this place isn't for you. I am looking for someone who is responsible and able to make sure she doesn't get out of the building or commits suicide by falling out the window. If you really like cats, even better.
If you want to bring your own pet, we can sure give it a try, bc Mausi can be a dick to other animals.
So far she only got along with puppies and boycats but hasn't really met anything other than other cats and dogs (who just chased her around). I am super tidy concerning her litter box, so no worries about any smell, except when she poops bc unfortunately that's unavoidable.
So besides the cat accepting trait, your standards for tidiness in the common areas shouldn't be leaving used dishes out until they are able to walk away by themselves. I want to feel clean and comfy at home and not have to worry about what I have just touched.
Those are the two things that are very important to me, so I thought I put them out there first, and if you think
those traits apply to you, then just write me a message, so I can give you my cell number or skype name if needed and we can talk about further details.
Just some key infos about me - my name's Sophie (26), I am from Munich, I am a student at BoKu and we can chat about the rest if everything works out!
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Cheers!
