Hi there,
one room in my 2-bedroom-apartment will be available from March. You'll be taking over my brother's old room and living together with me :)
The room will be unfurnished but I can lend you my fold-out if you don't have a bed yet :) I also have blankets, pillows, towels if you need them! You'll have a balcony that I'd love to fix up this spring to make it nice and cozy :)
In the kitchen there are a DISH WASHER (my personal favorite), a washing machine, a fridge ofc, a microwave, a huge freezer (that I actually want to get rid off soon) and anything you can spot on the pictures.
Wifi, cable and a home line are also included in this goody goody.
The U7 is within 5 min's walking distance (Ubhf Parchimer Allee), there're also three different busses nearby (181, M46 and 170).
There are several supermarkets close by. There's a little market every friday too ;)
Britz is a calm, pretty green and friendly part of Neukölln. It only takes you 10 min to get to the favorite spots of Kreuzberg / Neukölln and 30 to get to Alexanderplatz.
Although Britz is very calm, Buschkrugallee is a pretty busy street and our rooms are facing the street - so it can be quiet noisy (if you leave the window open) because of the traffic.
You'll be living with me, Aileen (29), and my three guinea pigs Luna, Lily, and James (yes, I am a big Harry Potter fan which I'm kinda ashamed to admit because JKR SUCKS) that have claimed the kitchen for themselves.
I became (more and more) vegan over the last summer after being vegetarian for 7 or more years. I care for the environment, for animals, for human rights, for equality, I am part of and support the LGBTQ community and try my best to be an ally for minorities and to be anti-racist. I want my home to be a safe space.
So queers, vegans, people of any color or religion or gender or sexuality -- you're very welcome!
I study English and mathematics to become a teacher. I have yet to finish my master's thesis which I initially wanted to write about Harry Potter and education but now I'm thinking of ways to bash JKR and her transphobia (and all of her other forms of discrimination that she has to offer).
I love reading and as a queer and feminist bookworm, I am THRILLED that my new dream bookstore opened a few weeks ago not far from my (our ;)) home: 'She Said' at Hermannplatz.
I like cooking. I love languages. I'm currently learning Spanish (A1), but I'd also love to continue learning French (officially C1 after having lived in France for a year). During the pandemic, I really got into running. I spent the first 6 months of Corona lockdown in Paris which felt like hardcore mode. I also got into Yoga there. I also play volleyball if there isn't a lockdown going on. Other than that, I like singing and dancing, a lot, but I am very bad at both.
Like almost everyone else, I, too, like watching Netflix and co. HOWEVER, I absolutely HATE watching dubbed TV. I hope to watch TV with my new housemate, that's why I'm letting you know now that it's OV (with subtitles if necessary) ONLY :D The TV shows and movies I watched in 2020 and really liked were: Dark (I think it's the only German TV show I ever liked), This is Us (I cried so much!), Queen & Slim (might be the best movie I ever watched), When They See Us (my heart fell into a million pieces watching this), Avatar (rewatched it but still counts! I found TLOK quite disappointing, unfortunately).
Okay I don't know what else to write about myself so please just ask me if you want to know anything. There's so much more to tell :)
I'd appreciate if you smoked your cigarettes on the balcony but obviously I wouldn't MAKE you do it. I don't mind the smell of a shisha / hookah / 420 in the apartment though :)
