Since I will be spending a bit more time with my family this winter, I am subletting my nice, big room in Berlin Wedding. It is simply furnished with a double bed, desk, clothes rack and 2 drawers, and I have always enjoyed the big empty space in the middle to construct things, dance around or exercise during times of quarantine. It is facing to the south with a big, three-sided bay window, that's what I call a "winter garden", which makes the room so bright :) The apartment also has a big kitchen, a bathroom with a bathtub and a balcony. There is unfortunately no living room, but a big enough dining corner with sofa in the kitchen.
We live in Berlin-Wedding, at the metro station Nauener Platz. We are close to the U9, U8, U6, Ringbahn and the North-South train connection (S-Bhf Gesundbrunnen and Humboldthain). We have the beautiful canal of Panke and Park of Humboldthain and Shillerpark close by, diverse supermarkets and Turkish, Arab and Asian grocery stores, a couple of restaurants and cafes, such as Dan Thai or Stranero Pizza, which is really delicious. We actually enjoy a lot the diversity and neighbourhood feeling in Wedding, the changes between busy streets and more quiet pockets, and the non-pretentious feeling of our daily encounters.
Your temporary flatmates will be Marios (27, Greek-Cypriot, PhD in Physics) and Laura (29, German, Ma in Conflict Studies). We speak German at home but English speakers are obviously welcome, that's why I am posting the ad in English :) We like to share food and thoughts with each other, but also respect each others privacy and time alone. Our interests range between politics, social injustice, arts and culture, and we are always happy to comment on our own and the global news with a coffee/beer in the kitchen. A basic standard of sustainable lifestyle means for us that at least we are recycling our trash, so please consider this when sending us a message! We have a schedule for cleaning the common areas, and mostly share our meals and food expenses, but if you have special diet you can of course stick to this.
The room is available January and February or for a shorter time within the month, so let us know if you have a special condition and want to arrive/leave a bit earlier or later. You can pass by to meet us and see the room, or also have an online appointment. Happy to hear from you!
