Greetings everyone!
I (Dip) am looking for two new flatmates for our beautiful WG in Handschuhsheim, Heidelberg. My flatmate and his partner are moving out because Alex is graduating soon and Namita has found a new job in Berlin. Therefore, two nice rooms will be available for someone to move in from August 2021 onwards.
The room is certainly the highlight of the flat. The room is around 30 square meters in size and has two large windows facing east. The room is let unfurnished, but my flatmates would like to leave the cupboard with mirrors, the bed, the white bookshelf and the wooden bookshelf + cupboard next to the desk to the person moving in for a down payment of 150 euros.
The apartment itself is quite spacious with a size of 100 square meters. It consists of a generous kitchen, equipped with three fridges, a dishwasher, a washing machine and an oven. An additional guest toilet is also available in addition to the standard bathroom.
Rental cost: 535 euros/month (including GEZ, internet, heating, water and electricity)
Kaution/deposit: 1160 euros
Down payment: 150 euros for the furniture.
The location of the apartment is just perfect. It takes only 5-10 minutes to reach Bismarkplatz or the university campus Neuenheimer Feld by bike. You can also take the tram lines 5 and 23 respectively, just 3 minutes walking distance away. When it comes to grocery shopping, there is an organic market and other supermarkets like Lidl, Rewe just 5 minutes away. Additionally, a nice Italian restaurant and an ice cream shop are next to the flat.
Your future roommate will be Dip (29). I am a final year PhD student and pursuing my research in Computational Neuroscience at the Universitätsklinikum Heidelberg. I have lived in different places and currently living in Germany for around 7 years. Overall, I am looking for two flatmates who are mature and relaxed. Since we always used English as a main language in our WG, I would like to continue with it (ps: do not worry, it does not need be perfect :)) I am also looking forward to living with the people with open mindset (i.e., believes in diversity :D) and happy to share meals or cook/drink together during the free time/availability. Sometimes I also like to plan movie/game night with my flatemates or simply going for a hike/run/bike tour together. Additionally, I do photography and play chess during my free time. Certainly, our WG has never been a party flat and so, personal space and living in a clean flat is quite important for me. Therefore, a mandatory cleaning schedule will be applied to all the people living in the WG. If you think you can see yourself as the potential future flatmate in our WG, feel free to write me something about yourself and most importantly, tell me about how you would imagine yourself living in our WG :)
Note: I would give preference to someone who is doing his/her PhD/working or Studying Masters or in a higher semester.
If you cannot visit the apartment in person then I would also be happy to talk to you via video conferencing. It can be difficult to find a room from abroad ;) I am looking forward to hearing from you soon. I cannot promise to reply to every message if there are too many, however I will try my best to write you back. Thanks in advance.
Best,
Dip
I (Dip) am the main tenant of the apartment and owns the current WG contract directly from the landlord. So, two new flatemates will get the room contract as sublet contract from me. That is why I would like you to provide me a certificate that verify that you have a general liability insurance as well as a proof of your income, be it Bafög, a scholarship or your parents income that will cover rental payment.
