Hello hello — and welcome to our home :)

Recently, a couple who had been living with us decided to start their own new chapter, which opened up some space in the flat. This means we now have up to three rooms becoming available, and we’re looking for people who are interested in being part of a calm and friendly shared home.

Room 1 is now home to Rick, our favorite Dutchie, who has been building his life in Berlin since last summer. He’s a genuinely kind and easygoing person — thoughtful, reliable, and someone you can always have a good conversation with or simply share the quiet comfort of the flat.

Room 2:
A large room (approx. 24 m2) with wooden floors and double windows. It’s partly furnished, but we’re flexible and can discuss what works best for you.
Rent (all inclusive — heating, warm water, internet, etc.): 468,42 €

Room 3:
A large, bright and sunny room (approx. 24 m2), fully furnished, with its own balcony that’s especially nice during warmer months — perfect for reading, working, or simply enjoying some fresh air, as it is convertible into a kind of outside couch/bed. As I’ll eventually return to this room, it will remain furnished during your stay.

Room 4:
A small room (approx. 13 m2) facing the quiet inner courtyard. It features a custom-built wooden loft bed designed by an architect, with an integrated desk underneath — a pace-efficient design that gives the room a cozy and functional atmosphere. Since the structure was a personal investment by a former flatmate, there will be a one-time compensation for taking it over.

In Rooms 2 and 4, there are also some optional furniture pieces (like sofas) that you’re welcome to take over if you like — but there’s no pressure. You can decide once you’ve seen the space.

Important to know:
This flat is also home to two cats. They are very much part of this home and move freely throughout the apartment, day and night. It’s important to us that whoever moves in feels comfortable with them — and ideally enjoys their presence.
Loki is more on the gentle and independent side, while Där is very affectionate and loves being close to people. They both bring a quiet warmth to the space.

We’re located in one of the nicest parts of Friedrichshain, right by Boxhagener Platz — lively, but in a good way. The area feels vibrant without being dominated by traffic; it’s busy with people, cafés, and everyday life rather than cars. In summer, when the windows are open, you can hear the low hum of conversations from the restaurants downstairs.

Around Boxi, evenings tend to be social but relaxed. It’s more about sitting outside with friends, having good food or a glass of wine, and enjoying the atmosphere than heavy partying. On weekends, you have the famous flea market and the farmers’ market just around the corner. Everything you need is within walking distance: small independent shops, bakeries, cafés, and green spaces, or bigger supermarkets.

Public transport is extremely convenient (S-Bahn, U-Bahn, tram — all close by), which makes it easy to move around the city.

We are Iacoba (that’s me), Rick, Loki and Där. I’ll be stepping away from the flat for about a year, during which Rick will be living here with you - and the cats of course. We’ve been connected to this place for almost 10 years now, so it has really grown with us over time.

It’s a typical Berlin Altbau: high ceilings, wooden floors that creak a little here and there, and those classic double windows. The kitchen has seen a lot of life — shared meals, late talks, quiet mornings, and everything in between. It’s not perfect, but it’s honest and comfortable. The flat itself has become a fairly calm and easygoing home. The apartment is mostly a place to come home to, recharge, cook something, talk a bit, or just do your own thing. We used to have crazy many parties in there, but we grew out of it a little bit.

We’re looking for people who are grounded, friendly, and comfortable in a shared space - people who appreciate a relaxed and respectful atmosphere without too many rules or expectations.

Overall, it’s a warm, lived-in Berlin home — not fancy, but real — and we’re hoping to find someone who feels comfortable in that kind of space.

We will make contracts limited to a year.

Anmeldung is possible, but then the landlords ask 20Eur extra per person per month, which doesn't really make sense, but landlords can do whatever they want it seems.

If you can imagine moving into our relaxed flat in a really beutiful neighbourhood and having the sweetest cats by your side for a year, feel free to reach out! The cat food and all the expenses concerning the cats will of course be covered by me, Iacoba.
