Alright, here we go! 🌻
Last year, I bought this apartment and realized: one room is still waiting for the right person. I’d love to share the place temporarily with someone interesting, curious, and kind. Let’s figure out—by writing and during a visit—whether living together feels like a good match.

The room is fully furnished and was designed by me over the past months, guided by my personal sense of “good style.” 🙃 I hope you like it—have a look at the pictures. A key feature of the room is its many plants, which need a bit of care. So having “green fingers” (is that the right expression?) would definitely be a big plus 🌱

In my mind, the room is a perfect fit for a postdoc stay in Dresden. I hold a PhD in materials science myself and truly enjoy exchanging perspectives across different scientific fields. That said, science is not a requirement—artists, athletes, or people following entirely different paths are just as welcome. Curiosity matters more than labels.

The room offers several IKEA Kallax shelves, leaving plenty of open space for your own style. The wardrobe is not huge—but for a limited stay, that usually works out just fine, right? 🫣
The apartment includes a shared kitchen with all the basics (and a dishwasher ✨), a shared bathroom with shower, bathtub, and washing machine, a living room with a comfy couch and a dining table for up to six people 🍽, and—last but not least—a small balcony attached to the kitchen 🍃.

The apartment is located on Rähnitzgasse, just a short walk from Augustusbrücke and the historic city center of Dresden. The Elbe river, Semper Opera, Frauenkirche, and—on the other side—the lively Neustadt nightlife area are all reachable within minutes on foot.
Dresden‐Neustadt train station is also nearby, offering fast connections to Leipzig, Frankfurt, Hamburg, as well as regional trains to the Sächsische Schweiz. Several tram stops are close as well. All in all: central, well connected, and very pleasant to live in 😊.

I’ve spent most of my university years living in shared flats—mainly in Dresden, briefly in Birmingham (UK), and later again near my workplace. Most of these were very social, the last one more like parallel solo living.
At some point, I realized: if I’m basically living alone anyway, I might as well do it properly—without a mysterious “ghost” messing up the kitchen 🙃.
So this time, my hope is different. I’d like to live with someone with whom sharing time feels natural: occasional meals, maybe a hike or some sports, maybe even a night out now and then. I’m a curious person with a broad range of interests and truly enjoy being introduced to new ways of thinking.

Work can sometimes interfere with evening plans 🫣. To be completely honest, one motivation for sharing the flat is also to create a gentle reminder not to stay at work for too long—and to redirect some energy towards life outside the office. Work problems are patient. They’ll still be there the next day 😊.

Please tell me in advance how you imagine shared living and how long you would like to rent the room (the contract is intended to be around one year and can be discussed). It’s important to me that our expectations align.
And very important: please have a heart for the plants 🌱. If you really don’t like plants or feel absolutely unable to take care of them, this room is probably not a good match.
