Looking for 1 open-minded, artistic/creative, chill, approachable and music-loving roomie to share a cosy three-room Altbau flat on Sonnenallee in Neukolln, next to bus stop Erkstrase. Available as of now, or 1. June, with a hard limit when the contract ends, 30. September 2024: we all have to get out then. NO REGISTRATION/ANMELDUNG!
Let's just make this one unforgettable Berlin summer no?!
There are 2 bedrooms, both quiet and facing the courtyard (1 small, 1 larger, which is held by Paddy, 1 of the 2 roomies) and 1 large room toward the street. This large (living) room is a bed room now, as for us to make it possible to live here with 3 people and pay only 550 euro, in what we think is the best area of Berlin.
Luckily, there is also a cosy shared kitchen under a blossoming tree where you can sit and socialize as in a living room and a Berlin-style small bathroom.
The whole flat is furnished with essentials: the living room is a warm, inviting space with my 700 records i gathered over the years - i am an music enthusiast - hosting a radioshow for 17 years, appreciating jazz, funk, (neo) soul, disco, house, (dub) techno (to the Detroit side of things), 80's pop/new wave, R&B, hiphop, triphop, UKG, etc. There is a full dj setup with record players, usb/cd and a nice set of speakers. And we will put up the most artsy covers of the selection on the wall, in which you get to have say if you move in!
Music is played at a normal level and i am always willing to adjust if necessary. Needless to say i have been out to hear music, meet people, clubbing, nightlife etc. in the past and still picking my parties here and there in the music walhalla that is Berlin. I would love you to not be indifferent about music, without having to exactly match my taste. I'm open to all kinds of music and always curious to new!
Living room pic is without a Persian rug, tying the room together nicely, salon table and plants. It has a working space with big screen to use when you work remotely or want to watch Netflix or stream or something on a tv-like screen.
LOCATION:
The flat is on the corner with Wildenbruchstraße — 5 minutes to the canal/U Rathaus and a M41 stop right outside. Canal/park within a few minutes walking. Home-feels assured w/ Späti in the building and the best konditorei Damaskus and Gemüsekebab in town right down the road, too + of course lots of affordable veg stores near.
ABOUT ME:
Hi! I'm Tamer. I’m 36, he/his. I'm still new to Berlin and studying Deutsch (sorry, es ist noch nicht gut genug, um das hier auf Deutsch zu schreiben). I work remotely as copywriter, UX-researcher, interviewer but commute to the Netherlands for about a week a month - in which you'd have the flat to yourself. Music is my greatest love as mentioned. I also love good food and cooking and am always down for a cosy dinner at home.
After a stint of living by myself in my native Den Haag in the Netherlands, I've been happy to be back to sharing my living space with people again. It's great to come home to a good chat! I adore meeting and being around people, but also enjoy some alone time nerding out about music or playing a gaame. I think I'm an approachable, open person, kind, curious and love to learn from others. I would like our shared spaces to be tidy and relatively clean. A house is a place to live, so rigidity regarding a meticulous cleaning standard won't do for Paddy and me!! Be relaxed, and assertive: if you see something needs cleaning, clean it - is more our mantra.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
OTHER INFO:
The reason this is limited to a 3 months is that I'm figuring out what's next for myself after my partner and I decided we wanted to live apart. At 1650 euros/month I agree that this apartment is too expensive. It was a Staffelmiete and all that. With the flat market being what it is at the moment, we haven't felt able to let it go yet though. Not making any extra from the additional rent though: what I've listed here is an honest 33/33/33. (550eu per person)

I'd like us to be on board morally/principally on 3 what i see as basic but pivotal questions related to likemindedness and being around each other, but we get to that if you're interested in what you read here before!

Your other roomie will be Paddy, the most lovely Irish fella you'll ever meet, who has been working as a (top)chef as high as in Michelin restaurants, but now working in a little less elite kitchen - still up there tho.. - practicing good vibes naturally, constructive, honest and kind. Paddy is quite busy working but when he's off... it's work hard, play hard. A rhythm i can adhere to. We became friends since he moved in and we're hoping you be the one to complement this Berlin summer 2024 Trifecta!
