Room to rent in shared house, 1h from Alex, vegan-friendly but NOT only vegan, 500-600€

Hey there! We are searching for flatmates.❤️ We live together in a big house with a garden next to the forest in Strausberg, one hour S-Bahn ride from Berlin city centre. Currently, we are 8 out of 10 people, with one of us leaving in the beginning of March, so there's enough space to claim for yourself :) Feel free to visit to get to know us.

Our home features a huge living room with comfy sitting area and a movie projector, a coworking space (ideal for people working in home office), a big shared kitchen, two cats 🐈‍⬛, a cellar storeroom full of stocks, a craft room, a music room with a piano and drums and a big sports room with a punchbag, yoga mats, budō weapons (martial artists welcome!), pull-up bar, dumbbells, a cross trainer and lots of unused space for further upgrades;) You could go jogging in the forest every morning, if that's your kind of thing. We also have a big trampoline in our garden for more sporty action in the warm season. We plant vegetables and herbs in the garden for our use. Feel free to participate and shape the garden as you like!

It is very beautiful around here especially in spring and summer, when the forest and garden are full of flowers and we can go swimming in one of the many lakes nearby. In autumn the forest is covered in mushrooms, some of which we like to collect and eat. As the nearby forest used to be a military training area a long time ago, there are many moss-grown bunkers around, in case you like playing hide-and-seek.

This place is good for active people who would like to be part of a group, take up responsibility for our life together and help make our home better every day. Vegans, queers, left-leaning alternative folks of all colours and backgrounds are welcome! 💜🌈✨

We like to spend time together casually, as it occurs, watch movies, play games or have political discussions. We like to do barbeques in the garden in summer. We share household chores flexibly according to personal preference, though everyone participates in some capacity. We have a cash box for food which everybody pays into anonymously and everyone can buy food from this money. Generally all food in the house is being shared (unless labled as private) and often someone is cooking in the evening for everyone else. Please note that not all of us are vegan. Some of us eat dead animals inside the house, so if that's a no-go fo you, sorry to disappoint you. However, most of our cooked meals are vegan and all non-vegan items are clearly labled as such. Every Sunday night we have plenum to discuss all things related to living together and check on how everyone is doing.

PLEASE be sure to check on a map where this place is before applying! We live comfortably close to Berlin, being well-connected via the S5, and yet close to nature. But of course, this is not a city apartment. You have to calculate the longer commuting times into your daily schedule, if you commute. If you have common destinations somewhere in the Western part of Berlin, our location might prove inconvenient.

The rent is between 500-600€ (negotiable).
