Du würdest für den Zeitraum der Zwischenmiete in mein Teil-Appartment einziehen, welches sich im 5. Stock in einem der drei Türme des Studentenwohnheims befindet. Du kannst bequem den Aufzug nutzen bzw. barrierefrei in die 5. Etage gelangen.
Im Zimmer selbst ist natürlich alles vorhanden, was man braucht. Zusätzlich gibt es ein eigenes kleines Bad nur für dich. Die Dusche ist ebenfalls barrierefrei.
Da ich das Zimmer für die Zeit eines (relativ kurzen) Auslandsaufenthaltes zur Verfügung stelle, werde ich natürlich einige Sachen da lassen müssen. Wir können dann gemeinsam besprechen, wie viel Platz du für dein Hab und Gut benötigst und wie wir es dir so angenehm wie möglich machen können.
Um bezüglich der Kosten klarer zu werden: Wir zahlen hier einen Pauschalbetrag, in dem die Nebenkosten, Heizung, Strom und Internet bereits enthalten sind. Die Monatsmiete beträgt insgesamt 295€. Für 1,5 Monate käme also ein Betrag von 442,50€ zusammen.
Rauchen ist im Gebäude, und somit auch im Zimmer nicht gestattet. Du müsstest dafür immer runter zum Eingang laufen/fahren. Dort sind Aschenbecher angebracht.
You would move into my part-apartment on the fifth floor in one of the three buildings of the dormitory. You can get up there comfortably and barrier free by using the elevator.
Of course, the room itsself provides everything one needs. Additionally there is a small bathroom only for you. The shower is barrier free.
Since I’ll be away only for a relatively short period of time I will have to keep several things in the room. We can discuss how much space you need to store your own belongings and how we can make it as comfortable for you as possible.
To be more precise about the costs: We pay a fixed sum including additional costs, electricity, heating and internet. All in all the monthly fee is 325€. That means 487,50€ for 1,5 months.
Smoking is prohibited in the entire building. To do so you’d have to go all the way down and outside the entrance where you can find ash trays.
Eine Bushaltestelle befindet sich nur 1-2 Gehminuten entfernt von welcher aus du zur Ruhr-Universität fahren kannst oder du läufst ein paar Minuten zu Fuß durch den Wald, um zum UniCenter und zum Campus zu kommen. Von dort gelangst du mit der U35 in die Innenstadt, zum Hauptbahnhof, etc.
Im UniCenter gibt es die wichtigsten Einkaufsmöglichkeiten an einem Ort: Rewe, Netto, eine Apotheke, kleinere Supermärkte sowie ein paar Imbissbuden/Restaurants.
Wenn du mit der U35 oder aber zu Fuß Richtung Markstraße gehst, wirst du außerdem einen Aldi finden.
The bus station is 1-2min from the dormitory. From there you can get to RUB within very few minutes or you take a 10-15min walk through the small forest to get to the UniCenter and RUB. From there you can take the U35 to go to the city center, main station, etc.
UniCenter offers the most important shopping opportunities: Rewe, Netto, some smaller grocery stores, a pharmacy and some takeaways/restaurants. If you’ll go towards Markstraße you can also find an Aldi nearby.
Auf unserer Etage haben wir alle ein eigenes Zimmer + Bad, nur die Küche teilen wir uns. Aber keine Panik, es ist nie wirklich schmutzig. Fast jeden Morgen kommt eine Reinigungskraft vorbei und macht klar Schiff.
Da das AKAFÖ die Studierenden auf die Zimmer zuteilt, kannst du dir sicher vorstellen, dass wir ein wilder Mix von Persönlichkeiten sind. Trotz der Verschiedenheit sind alle sehr nett und rücksichtsvoll miteinander. Du kannst während du hier bist frei entscheiden, ob du gerne Anschluss suchen, oder ob du eher für dich sein und Ruhe finden möchtest.
Für ein Studentenwohnheim ist es hier erstaunlich ruhig. Du brauchst keine Sorgen zu haben, dass du aufgrund von Partylärm nicht schlafen kannst.
On our floor we share the kitchen. You still don’t have to worry about whether there would be a complete mess. Almost every morning the cleaning staff will drop by and clear the decks.
Since the AKAFÖ allocates the students you can imagine the people on one floor are a wild mix of personalities. Despite the diversity, everyone is pretty nice and considerate of each other. Therefore you can choose to either connect with the others or to be on your own and find peace and quiet.
For a student dorm, it's surprisingly quiet here. You wouldn't have to worry about lacking sleep because of party noise.
Leider ist dem AKAFÖ auch bei einer Untervermietung wichtig, dass die Person in Bochum studiert, bestenfalls an der RUB. Solltest du dich entscheiden, das Zimmer zu nehmen, müssen wir mit dem AKAFÖ einen offiziellen Untermietvertrag abschließen.
Zur Nutzung des WLANs ist es außerdem notwendig, dass du über eine RUB-Kennung mit PW verfügst, um dich damit jeden Tag neu einzuloggen. Deinen RUB-Studierendenausweis brauchst du außerdem, um für die Waschmaschine oder den Trockner im Waschkeller zu zahlen.
Ich werde bereits ab dem 16. Februar nicht mehr in Deutschland vor Ort sein, wir können uns noch persönlich darüber abstimmen, wie wir die Schlüsselübergabe machen.

Unfortunately it is important to AKAFÖ that only students from Bochum - preferrably from RUB - stay in this dormitory. If you choose to take my room we will have to sign an official sublease contract.
To use the Wifi it is necessary to own a RUB ID + password to log in. This has to be done at least once a day. You also need your RUB student card to use the washing machines or dryer in the basement.
I personally will leave on the 16th so we need to discuss about handing over the keys at some other point.
