30sqm furnished room in the "Viertel", July to September '24

Our apartment is located in Bremen's best location, the Viertel (Fesenfeld). You have the tram lines 1, 4 and 10, practically right in front of the door. To the hustle and bustle of the Viertel at "the corner" it is about a 5 minutes walk, so you have the entire selection of gastronomy, bars, pubs, stores, etc. just around the corner, without being disturbed by the noise at night. We're close to the 'Bürgerpark' as well, for everyone who likes to go for long walks or a run in the park.

In addition to my partner Tuncer (39) (he/him) and me (26) (she/her), Dennis (29) (he/him) lives in our shared apartment.

Tuncer studies political science at the University of Bremen and works in a restaurant. He speaks German, Turkish and English. He has a huge dedication for books, films and film restoration, loves to experiment in the kitchen and keeps a wide array of teas and herbs. He is always down for a a talk about politics, literature, or movies.

Dennis moved to Bremen from Kenya two years ago and tries to save the planet with his start-up for climate protection initiatives. He speaks English, Swahili, Kikuyu and is in the process of learning German (sort of). He's a hardworking software engineer, but likes to go to the gym as well and meet with other internationals in the city.

Our flat is a vegetarian space so you'd have to be fine to not cook or consume any meat/fish at home. Since we all enjoy to cook and eat, we like do that together if our different daily schedules allow. If we have time, we go out to eat in the 'Viertel' together.
We share most of our groceries, such as vegetables and fruits, oil, pasta, rice etc., as this reduces costs and food waste and also feels more communal. Last year we created a pretty nice little garden on our awesome balcony where we grew some strawberries, tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, herbs and bee plants. When the sun comes out and the days get warmer, its's a really nice and calm spot to enjoy life.
We're dedicated to reduce plastic trash/cans in our flat whenever possible and reasonable. For example, we invested in a big pressure cooker to prepare all sorts of beans to avoid cans (which is cheaper than buying cans anyway :)). Alternatively for convenience, everything you can buy in a can it is sold in glass as well, so no worries if you need things faster. Tuncer also found an easy way to make barrista-style oat-milk so we don't have to buy the evil tetra-packs.

We clean our flat once a week and keep the common rooms clean after cooking (!!), having a shower etc. so that everybody feels comfortable any time. As we all think it's selfish to leave the communal places in disarray or dirty, make sure you actually think that you share the same attitude. We're definitely NOT a party-WG either, but since we live in the 'Viertel', there are many pubs/clubs available for that purpose.

In our shared flat, we're mainly speaking English.
