Room
The apartment is originally handed over unfurnished however almost fully furnished and located in between the FIZ (university sports center) and the Klinikum. Specifically, the room has a desk with an office chair, a mattress (90x200), a closet, a bedside table and lamp, and a couch. This room is very comfortable and perfect for students because it is fully equipped for any situation (from studying to relaxing to hanging out with friends). we can reach a good deal on the furniture, otherwise, you can also bring your own.
Overall, the flat has everything. The kitchen has four hobs, an oven, a microwave, a refrigerator, and a freezer, and the toilet includes a shower. The building complex also contains a laundry room with three washing machines and two dryers as well as an entire room in which you can hang your laundry. There is also easy bicycle parking right outside the apartment.
The apartment is in Am Papenberg, a Studentenwerk dorm. The dorm includes a party room and a sauna, and people in the dorm organize various social activities (language dinners, parties, day trips, etc.) to encourage people in the dorm to get to know each other.
From the apartment, you can easily get to the north campus (4 min by bike or 15 min on foot) and to the central campus (8 min by bike). The UMG and the MPI-em are right next door. The bus stops are Am Papenberg (2 min walk), Hermann-Rein-Strasse (9 min walk), and Klinikum (10 min walk), which can get you almost anywhere. It's thus very convenient to get to the program buildings or any of the labs. There are also several nearby grocery stores, including Penny (3 min by bike), REWE (4 min by bike), Lidl (4 min by bike), and Tegut (3 min by bike). The city center is also only 8 min away by bike.
Meg would be your flatmate. she is a recent graduate of the IMPRS program and is now working as a research assistant in Göttingen. she is very friendly, understanding, clean, easy to live with, and excited to get to know other people.
