The flat is on the 4th floor of the house. Its been renovated 4 years ago, and therefore the nicest flat in the building. You got two rooms to choose from, one is bigger (17 m²) but has a somewhat smaller window, the other one is smaller (13 m²) but has a bigger window. The room you don’t choose will be our new living room! Both rooms face west and have nice wooden flooring, as does the whole flat, and a small Dachschräge (roof rafters??). The kitchen is rather small, but well organized and fully equipped. The Bathroom is the exact same size as the kitchen and therefor rather big.
There is a strong communal aspect to the whole building. We all know each other, organize dinners together, party together, play games in the Moorteichwiesen together and build stuff in the Backyard together (where there is also a chance to park your bike in the brand new bike-shed we build last year). The backyard is the heart of the whole building. Since there are no balconies, this is the place we come together. Located in the Hinterhofhaus are workshops of friends who used to life in the building.
The Südfriedhof is the best area to live in in Kiel (personal opinion). The building is located in a parallel Backstreet of the Kirchofallee with only little traffic passing through. Its 2 min to the Bus stop “Südfriedhof, 4 minutes to Rewe and Lidl, 5 min. to either Moorteichwiesen, Südfriedhof or Schützenwall and 15 min. to the main station. The are surprisingly many bars & restaurants around, such as JuMe, Prinz Willi, Piniccio, Seypa, etc..
We used to be 4 but two people are moving out, finding a place together. Now only us two are remaining: Osama is 35, master student and finishing his thesis (sustainability), working part time. Osama likes to be outside, playing games with friends, running or visiting places around Kiel. If he's not outside, writing his thesis or working, he is cooking food in the kitchen that he shares with everyone dropping in. He has always time for a coffee and knows a bunch of stories, that I, as his roommate, still only heard the smallest part of. There is much to discover as he is a huge fan of hiking, tracking and the outdoors in general. Malte (29) is currently working in home office, he enjoys sports and does bunch of climbing and bouldering. When he is not doing that he is busy building something or fixing something around the house. He learning to play the trumpet, it is always funny to hear him practicing, and always enjoys a nice discussion about god and the world.
You probably already figured: two are moving out but only one person is moving back in. Why? We are open for things to change and for the WG life to grow, that's why we are now getting a living room and are really looking forward to your ideas on how to organize and use the space. The whole house is in one way or another politically active, so there is no room for racism, sexism or homophobia. We value a respectful, honest and open communication and a common understanding of a sustainable and communal lifestyle. Pre-Corona we liked to have friends over, which sometimes developed into parties every now and then. This naturally didn’t happen much lately. So far, the cleaning worked without a fixed schedule or plan, as all of us share a similar understanding of cleanliness. Everyone did something sometimes (although we are happy to organize this more). After all: Alles kann, nichts muss.
That sounds like you? Drop us a massage, we are looking forward to meet you!
