The room is located on the ground floor of a small building overlooking one of the main streets of Salzburg's Neustadt district. The flat has two floors: the ground floor where my room is and the basement where there is a common area, a room and the bathrooms.
The room is illuminated by two large windows that provide a warm atmosphere on sunny days. The furniture that I am using would stay in the room so there is no need to buy new furniture and go through the hassle of moving. It is not overly large but the perfect size to create a small private space. There is a French bed, a wardrobe, a chest of drawers, a desk with a chair for studying, two shelves, hangers and a drying rack. If you want more privacy, you can lock the door.
the flat on the ground floor of a small three-storey building is 7 minutes away from the main train station (Salzburg Hbf), there is no metro in the city but it is very well supplied with buses and train stops. The location of the house is perfect for all kinds of public transport. it is ten minutes from the city's first tourist attractions such as the Mirabell Schloss or the Mozarthaus. Almost every place is within a 20 minute walk, in the six months I lived here I found it very convenient!
Life in the house is very peaceful, serene and quiet! as we all go to different universities, it is difficult to find moments and time to be together, but it is always nice to meet in the kitchen and recommend new magical places to discover together in the Salzburg countryside. In the flat on Gabelsbergerstrasse it is therefore very easy to find your own private and intimate space but also to have a good relationship with your flatmates.
the room is private but the kitchen and bathrooms are shared with all the housemates. There are cleaning shifts so there is a strong organisation to be able to have a strong shared life. The kitchen has all the necessary utensils: there is no need to bring or buy anything (from plates and dishes with glasses and cutlery, pots and pans to basic appliances such as a kettle, microwave and toaster) Everything is shared so you have to leave things as you found them in respect of the housemates!
