Hello everyone!
We are six people between the ages of 23 and 29 living in a shared flat in Geissweg, a self-organized student dorm next to Kliniken Tal. We are looking for a new international flat mate from July on.
The room which will be free is around 12m^2 and has two windows. You look out into the green. There is a small path in front of the room that sometimes people use to get to the garden, but the room is generally pretty quiet. You have the option of having it partially furnitured. Every room in the flat has free internet (ethernet/LAN access). You would share the bathroom and toilet with two other people. The contract is made with Studierendenwerk. The rent is 254€. The deposit is about 600€.
We are located in a street called Geissweg. It’s within 15min walking distance of the city center, or five minutes by bike. We are halfway between the town and the Campus Morgenstelle. The bus No. 5 stops every 10 min in both directions. The supermarkets are not very close, but if you need something urgently you will likely find someone in Geissweg who can help you out 😊.
In the flat there are living:
Sophia, who is doing her Masters in Peace Research and International Relations. She is like the most sociable person, cheering people up and making salad for everyone.
Nerea is studying Computational Neuroscience. She complained a lot about German weather in winter (seems to be nicer in Spain), but still spreads positive energy and is informed about all the hot celebrity gossip.
Moni is studying Cognitive Science. In her offtime she is doing a lot of Sports and especially enjoys discovering the surroundings of Tübingen by bike. Her vibe ranges from meditating to having flashes of laughter and she provides us with cakes for our birthdays.
Merle is studying a Masters of Education in Mathematics and Geography. She normally is pretty active and fascinated about how the world „works“. She likes to climb in her free time.
Jonas is studying educational science and social work. He is in the gym pretty much every second day (one of the facilities here in Geissweg). If you can't find him there he is probably chilling in the yard talking to everyone. He loves to laugh about memes.
Simon, who is moving out, is studying biochemistry. He is always chilling in the kitchen and asking us about how our day was. He is our English master, and helps with translations in case someone needs help.
We share a family-like life in our flat, but of course everyone also has as much time for themselves as they need. We often meet in the kitchen, talk about our days, cook something together, go to concerts or go bouldering and are always open to fun new ideas. We speak the following languages: German, English, Spanish and French.
We make it a point to have clean and tidy common spaces and use a cleaning plan that everyone adheres to.
We are part of a larger community in Geissweg – a self-organized student dorm with about 90 people loving in five houses. The dorms are managed by Studierendenwerk, but we can choose our flat mates ourselves. We share a yard, a garden (which we can enter directly from our kitchen window), common rooms like a music room, the gym, a party and chill room in the cellar, the bike cellar, laundry facilities and more.
We have different groups organizing activities for our community and / or everyone who is interested. For example, there is a clothing swap party this Thursday (9th of May 2024) starting at 2 pm. Just come over and have a look!
We are looking for a flatmate who brings their individuality into our flat and is open to joint activities. As we are a student dorm, and some rooms are reserved for international students you have to be non-German, a student at the University and still have “Wohnzeit” (living time) in a student dorm. Get in touch with us and let us now a little bit about yourself, adding what you would cook with the whole flat.
