Your room is a small cozy walk-trough room.
Walk-trough means, that Keydas room is right behind the room you are reading about and has to go trough it to get into his room. He is very kind and respectful:)
The window is facing towards the quiet backyard, so you are able to sleep with an open window in summer, but still living pretty central at the busy Praterstraße.
A high bed fits perfectly over the door to the next room, where Keyda lives.
Common spaces:
-We have a big kitchen (~20m2) that provides enough room for all the cooking adventures.
-and a cozy living room (~15m2) with a projector, a couch and chairs.
Location of the flat:
-Our flat is close to to Danube channel in 1020 - looking forward to hang out there in summer - already got some spraycans for common use <3
-Paterpark as well as Augarten are close by, Urania is just on the other side of the Aspernbrücke
-If you are rather a bike-user, you can put your bikes in out patio - riding bike here is great
Essentials:
-Public transport: You can see the U1 Nestroyplatz out of the window and stops of tram line 2 are within 5 minutes walking distance
-Several Asian and one arabic supermarket as well as other grocery stores such as Spar, Hofer or Billa are within walking distance. Also some nice dumpsters;)
-Same for pharmacy, Trafik, ATMs and many small restaurants and stores
We are sometimes busy between uni, work and other things - we tend to have different lifestyles and schedules throughout the week. When everyone is around, we speak English. We have a holy cleaning schedule and try to equally divide the taks between ourselves. Once a month, we have a plenary to discuss what needs to be discussed, but also to just hang out. We highly value transparent and proactive communication, especially when it comes to the needs of us living together to have a cozy and familiar atmosphere in the flat.
No Sexism, Racism, Fascism, Trans- and Homophobia.
Stuff we do together:
- movie nights (we have a projector in the living room)
- share food (love if we can get it for free - there are some good spots to save food close by) - however, we do not meat in common spaces
- cooking
- we like do talk about political stuff, we go together to political events from time to time
How are your roomies?
Jonas (he/him) - I am currently doing a master's program in political economy, which is keeping me very busy at the moment. In my spare time, I really enjoy cooking, listening to podcasts and playing table tennis. Apart from that, I am doing some political work, mainly in grass roots groups.
Lyn (she/her) - I love everything thats DIY, from bookbinding, trashy stick and poke to super-duper-diy-screenprinting. Knitting. Drawing. Oh I have a collection of very random accoustic music instruments and would love to have jam sessions! I like to sing songs about borders and cops being very unnecessary and imagine a world without them!
Also I work.
Keyda (he/him) - Training to be a mechatronics technician. Otherwise a punk drummer who likes to skate and tinker with stuff. Loves books, videogames and animated movies.
If you are interested but troubling with money:
From 2024 on we change the gas and electricity contract, so the Nebenkosten will be lower. Also talking about the rent is an option, we try to distribute it in a way that it is fair and everybody can afford it. Also living with us your grocery -spendings surely will get lower <3
