The room is on the first floor of a beautiful large apartment and has two large windows facing south-east, so the sun will greet you in the morning. But don't worry, the large curtains can block out any light for those days when you need to sleep in or come home early in the morning ;)
Like everywhere else in the apartment (except the bathroom and toilet of course) you have parquet floors and high ceilings typical for a Viennese Altbau. The room is 28 m2 and comes fully furnished so you can move in right away. You can see the furniture in the pictures, only the desk will be replaced by a slightly smaller white desk.
The apartment is on the border of the first district Innere Stadt, so you have everything you need within walking distance. The apartment has a spacious bathroom with a washing machine, a separate toilet and a spacious kitchen-living room from which you have a view of the Nestroy statue right below :)
The location is very central, only two minutes walk from Nestroyplatz underground station (U1) and five minutes from Schwedenplatz underground station (U1, U4, trams 1 and 2). There are also numerous buses that take you all over the city.
Located in one of the most vibrant and picturesque areas of the city, everything you need is close at hand. Not only is the Gretzl (Viennese for district) full of bars, restaurants, clubs and art, but it is also super close to the famous Danube Canal and the Danube Island.
On the canal, you can enjoy a beer or a drink while boats pass by and people dance to the music from the countless bars and street food stalls. The Danube Island is a green paradise with cold, clear water to cool off on a hot summer's day. Various activities such as beach volleyball, boat hire or even windsurfing can be enjoyed at many locations along the Danube. The rave culture is also very popular in this area.
There are also many small shops and many authentic Viennese or more modern coffee houses waiting to be discovered!
You would live with Alexander, Micha and Paul and inherit my (Matthias) room. We grew up together in Upper Austria and moved to Vienna to study. Since I am moving out to live with my girlfriend, we are looking for someone to fill the gap until our lease expires in the summer. We are really lucky to live with friends every day and to have found such a nice apartment and we hope to find someone who would like to take part in the daily activities and who is free to join in the leisure activities.
We are all between 22 and 23 years old and have different interests from sports to games to parties. We like to have friends over for a coffee in the afternoon or sometimes a drink in the evening (which is sometimes followed by a visit to one of the many nice bars or clubs). But of course, as always, you can always withdraw completely and spend as much time alone as you like. Since the apartment is quite big, everyone has a nice retreat and privacy is also appreciated :)
We are looking for someone who cleans up after themselves, but don't worry, not everything has to be spotless all the time. We also want to respect when others want or need to go to sleep and adjust our volume accordingly if necessary, and we would appreciate you doing the same.
In theory the room is free anytime from February until the summer. We can find a flexible solution for the start and end date that works for you. In addition to Erasmus students, this room is also suitable for students who are new to Vienna and are looking for their first accommodation, as the room is already fully furnished. Then you have plenty of time until the summer to look for somewhere else to live :)
We also feel that the best way to get to know each other and discuss any remaining questions is to have a zoom call or something similar.
We look forward to hearing from you!
Best wishes,
Alexander, Micha, Paul and Matthias
