We have a free room in our newly founded WG!
The room is about 10m² in size. It's located towards the inner yard and it's really quiet.
As we're on the highest floor, you can see the roof of the house and lots of sky.
If you want, we can help you to transport some furniture ;)
Currently we are 3 white and one non-white people. We would like to have white people be the minority in the apartment which is why at this moment we prioritize BIPOC/Non-white/racialised people.
We'd like to find long term BIPOC roommates, but can imagine offering white people short term rentals.
We’re a bunch of queers - none of the people living here at the moment are cis ;-)
We would be happy if you are:
- anti-capitalist
- queerfeminist
- actively trying to oppress less and unlearn internalized crap
- able to communicate needs & boundaries
- poly-friendly
- cooking (mostly) vegan
- queer: so far, none of the roommates are cis, so if you also fall into the trans/inter/non-binary field, we would be especially excited. If you are a cis queer we expect you to have TIN* friends and have educated yourself.
Please put "Jellyfish" as a subject so we know you read everything.
We want to create a space where
- English is the shared language in the WG
- shared meals are vegan
- we question and deconstruct hierarchies
- we share (emotional) responsibilities
- everybody can relax and feel at home
- we don't have to operate under the same circumstances which we struggle against in the world outside
- we are ready to get called out on yet to be unlearned oppressive behavior, even when it is unintentional
- we can do cool artsy-fartsy stuff (like have a monthly poetry night or paint the kitchen golden or make music together)
The apartment:
- we've all been moving in recently, it's not fully furnished yet
- 95qm² apartment (the rooms are all small!), 15th district, quiet inner yard
- 4 bedrooms, 1 living room, 1 bathroom, 2 WCs
- located in a quiet inner yard in 15. disctrict, Sechshauser Straße, close to U4 Meidling Hauptstraße, U4/U6 Längenfeldgasse and Auer Welsbach Park
- rent ~ 380-500€ per person, together we will create a solidary (income-based) cost sharing system
- Kaution yes, if possible - let's talk about it, we can find solutions if it's not possible :)
Your (future) roommates are:
- L (they/any): artist and designer, loves rearranging furniture and will constantly come up with new ideas about how to make the house more functional or exciting or easier to clean. They are going to art school for a year. Plays piano so if you have one they will be absolutely delighted. Has a fast-running ADHD brain that has much random knowledge and neverending design-ideas. Is currently learning how to work with wood more. Eats mostly vegan.
- M (none/they): freelance artist working with theatre, movement and martial arts. They are quiet, nature-loving, great cook who loves taking care of plants and animals. They make magnificent art and are the kind of friend you can always count on to lift heavy stuff.
- K (it/they):
queerfeminist, non-binary, poly, pan, kinky, vegan/freegan, anarchist, critical towards capitalism, anti-racist, anti-oppression.
Generally trys to reflect upon social power structures & oppression mechanisms and (their) privileges and, if possible, to find a critical & solidary way of dealing with them. Likes spending time with beloved people, going for walks in nature, deep conversations, or just hanging out together and chilling. Is currently discovering its kinky sides and sometimes visiting events. They like to ride their bike, do handicrafts, go dumpster diving, sometimes bouldering, reading. They are Sometimes a bit chaotic, but manage to limit the chaos to their room (and head) ;-) And partly they also quite well structured and organized - and also like to take (co-)responsibility!
Currently working part - time as a personal assistant.
Now and then they also need time for themself, sometimes more, sometimes less, depending on their life situation.
They would love if people who move in are kink-friendly and dog-friendly.
What is meant with that:
Kink-friendly: people don't have to be kinky themselves, of course, and it doesn't have to be a kinky WG, but others shouldn't be judged for being into BDSM stuff.
Consent is in any case the most important thing for them - at Kink, in living together and in general - and of course they will respect your needs and boundaries!
Dog-friendly: It would be important to them that dogs can also come visiting.
That's why it's unfortunately not possible for cats to move into the WG.
T: is about to move in at the moment. more infos coming soon ;)
We are starting a new WG from Nov/Dec.
Shared language in the apartment is English, some people also speak German, French, Urdu, Marathi, Hindi, Persian (learning), Bengali, Punjabi.
Currently we are 3 white and one non-white person. One of us will only stay till spring.
Longterm, would like to have white people be the minority in the apartment which is why at this moment we prioritize BIPOC/Non-white/racialised people. White people for short term rentals are also welcome to write!
We are looking forward to hear from you!
