LGBTQIAP+ freundlich: 25qm Zimmer im 16. Bezirk Ottakring, mit nahegelegenem Weinberg

Die Wohnung hat eine echte "Hybrid"-Lage. :)

== Verkehrsanbindung ==
Die Wohnung selbst ist auf der Wilhelminenstraße gelegen, ein kleines Stück den Wilhelminenberg hinauf. Am Fuß des Bergs liegt die Bim-Station "Sandleitengasse". Hier fahren euch die 2er Bim mitten in die Stadt, den Ring entlang und in den 2. Bezirk, während euch die 10er Bim direkt zum Schloss Schönbrunn bringt. Die 2 war für mich so etwas wie die Hauptverkehrsader in die Stadt und hat mich innerhalb von 30-40min an die meisten relevanten Orte (Hauptuni Campus, Karlsplatz, zB) gebracht.

Mit einem etwas längeren Spaziergang, oder einer kurzen Busfahrt, ist der Bahnhof Ottakring zu erreichen, von wo euch die U3 und die S45 durch die Stadt führen. Auch die 44er Bim und 46 Bim sind schnell erreicht.

== Einkaufssituation ==
In 6 Minuten sind je ein Spar und ein Hofer erreicht, 8 Minuten braucht ihr zum Interspar (wo es eine riesige Auswahl an allem gibt!) oder zum Billa. Bei dem Interspar gibt es außerdem einen DM, eine Postfiliale und je ein Schuh- und ein Kleidungsgeschäft.
Falls ihr gerne bastelt oder euch handwerklich betätigt, freut ihr euch vielleicht über den Fetter-Baumarkt, der in 5min erreicht ist und quasi am Heimweg von der Bim liegt.
Für den Nestbau und die Einrichtung der Wohnung empfiehlt sich der Kika, der ebenfalls in 7min erreicht ist.
Interessant ist womöglich auch der freitägliche Obst- und Gemüsemarkt am Bahnhof Ottakring oder der Flohmarkt, der dort jeden Samstag stattfindet.
Dazu gibt es noch eine ganze Reihe weiterer Läden und Märkte, in die ich aber nie hineingeschaut habe.

== Lebensgefühl ==
Obwohl der 16. Bezirk insgesamt mehr aus Beton als Grünfläche besteht, ist der am Wilhelminenberg gelegene Abschnitt der Wilhelminenstraße eine Allee, mit vielen Bäumen. Nahezu jedes Haus entlang der Straße hat einen gepflegten Garten, sodass ein insgesamt sehr schöner Heimweg von der Bim entsteht.

Dazu kommt, dass das Schloss Wilhelminenberg, mit fantastischer Aussicht auf die Stadt, in nur etwa 15min zu Fuß oder Bus erreichbar ist. Hinter dem Schloss geht es zudem in den Ottakringer Wald, wo eine öffentliche Grillwiese, ein kleiner Teich und der Stadtwanderweg 4a völlig vergessen lassen, dass ihr euch eigentlich noch in Wien befindet. Eine hervorragende Route für naturnahe Dates, gemeinsame Wandertouren oder schlicht Entspannung von zu viel Bildschirm-Arbeit. Und selbstverständlich ein echter Life-Saver, falls doch noch einmal ein Lockdown kommt.

Auch kulinarisch hat die Gegend einiges zu bieten: der Heuriger 10er Marie (10min entfernt) bezeichnet sich als ältesten Heurigen Wiens und der Heuriger Sissi Huber (2min!) hat eine fantastische Küche.

== Transportation ==
The apartment itself is located on Wilhelminenstraße, a little way up Wilhelminenberg. At the foot of the hill is the Bim station "Sandleitengasse". Here the 2er Bim will take you right into the city, along the Ring and into the 2nd district, while the 10er Bim will take you directly to Schönbrunn Palace. The 2 was for me something like the main artery into the city and brought me within 30-40min to most relevant places (main university campus, Karlsplatz, eg).

With a little longer walk, or a short bus ride, you can reach Ottakring station, from where the U3 and S45 will take you through the city. Also the 44er Bim and 46 Bim are quickly reached.

== Shopping situation ==
In 6 minutes you can reach a Spar and a Hofer, 8 minutes you need to go to Interspar (where there is a huge selection of everything!) or to Billa. At the Interspar there is also a DM, a post office and one shoe and one clothing store.
If you like to tinker or do handicrafts, you may be happy about the Fetter hardware store, which is reached in 5min and is virtually on the way home from the Bim.
For building nests and furnishing the apartment, we recommend Kika, which is also 7 minutes away.
The Friday fruit and vegetable market at Ottakring station or the flea market that takes place there every Saturday may also be of interest.
In addition, there are a number of other stores and markets, but I have never looked inside.

== Lifestyle ==
Although the 16th district as a whole is more concrete than green space, the section of Wilhelminenstraße located at Wilhelminenberg is an avenue, with many trees. Almost every house along the street has a well-kept garden, creating an overall very nice walk home from the Bim.

In addition, the Wilhelminenberg Castle, with a fantastic view of the city, is only about 15min walk or bus ride away. Behind the castle, it also goes into the Ottakringer forest, where a public barbecue meadow, a small pond and the city hiking trail 4a make you completely forget that you are actually still in Vienna. An excellent route for nature-oriented dates, joint hiking tours or simply relaxation from too much screen work. And, of course, it's a real life saver, just in case you do have a lockdown.

The area also has a lot to offer in the way of culinary delights: the Heuriger 10er Marie (10min away) calls itself the oldest Heuriger in Vienna and the Heuriger Sissi Huber (2min!) has fantastic cuisine.

Historisch ist die WG eine Studenten-WG. Der verbleibende Mitbewohner ist derzeit allerdings berufstätig und arbeitet im Schichtdienst, weshalb das WG Leben deutlich ruhiger geworden ist. Wenn ihr also ein Mensch seid, der sich innerhalb der eigenen vier Wände gerne zurückzieht, um zu entspannen und für sich zu sein, seid ihr hier goldrichtig!

Die WG ist seit jeher aufgeschlossen für Menschen jeder Geschlechtsidentität, sexueller Präferenz und Weltanschauung (sofern diese sich nicht gegen andere Mitglieder der WG richtet). Es wäre toll, wenn ihr diese Wert teilt!

Historically, the WG is a student WG. However, the remaining roommate is currently employed and works in shifts, which is why the WG life has become much quieter. So if you're a person who likes to retreat within your own four walls to relax and be by yourself, you're golden here!

The WG has always been open to people of any gender identity, sexual preference, and worldview (as long as it is not directed against other people). It would be great if you share these values!

Altbau-typisch haben Zimmer und Wohnung einige Eigenarten - knarzende Dielen und eine etwas klemmende Tür - ist ansonsten aber in gutem Zustand. Während meiner zwei Jahre in der WG habe ich einiges in der Wohnung hergerichtet und geputzt und unter Anderem alle Scharniere geölt und Duschkopf, Duschvorhang und einige Abflussrohre ausgewechselt - das von mir hierfür gekaufte Werkzeug ist noch in der Wohnung und in der Ablöse enthalten.
Die WG selbst besteht in wechselnde Besetzung seit 2008 - das Zimmer wurde während meiner zwei Jahre dort gründlich geputzt und hergerichtet.

Old building-typical room and apartment have some peculiarities - creaking floorboards and a somewhat sticking door - but is otherwise in good condition. During my two years in the apartment share I have prepared and cleaned some things in the apartment and among other things oiled all hinges and replaced shower head, shower curtain and some drain pipes - the tools I bought for this purpose are still in the apartment and included in the redemption.
The WG itself exists in changing occupation since 2008 - the room was thoroughly cleaned and prepared during my two years there.
