Hey ho :)
My name is Max and together with my now-roommate Maria I will leave this lovely shared apartment and two great roomies! Just like Maria's room, my room will be available from 1st August. The room is part of a duplex apartment that you will share with Ekin (28) and a new tenant, who will take over Maria's room on the lower floor (https://www.wg-gesucht.de/en/11003099.html). So if you have a friend to move in with, consider the second room too!
Please note that we are looking for young professionals, including PhD students, who are willing to commit to a minimum rental period of 12 months, with an additional 3-month notice period if needed for departure. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer the room to students due to criteria for rental eligibility, such as providing proof of income to the property management.
The rented room is situated on the upper floor of the apartment, which also houses the bathroom (bathtub shower, laundry, toilet, sink). It is fully furnished (bed + mattress, desk, office chair, cupboard, and some miscelaneous things) for which I would like to take a fee of 80€. With the room comes one half of the spacious balcony, that you will share with Ekin. Currently I keep an improvised couch out there that invites to hang out and enjoy good weather in the summer :). Since the room is on the top floor of the house and there are no bigger buildings nearby there's a lot of light coming in. The kitchen, living room, a second toilet, and a storage room are found on the lower level of the apartment. The kitchen is well-equipped, including a dishwasher. The living room has a large L-shaped pull-out couch that can be extended to accommodate guests - given that currently we are all expats, we warmly welcome visits from family and friends from time to time. We also have a lovely balcony upstairs!
The apartment location is very convenient, given the easy access to public transport: you can reach Heiligenstadt (U4), Handelskai (U6, S-Bahn), Jägerstraße (U6), and Dresdner straße (U6) in 10-15 minutes by foot, or less by bus. BOKU Muthgasse is also very close (5 minutes walking). Many bus stops – 5B, 11A, 5A, 37A – as well as tram stops are nearby. Night buses drop you just 2-3 minutes far from home. Billa, BIPA, Hofer, Bauhaus, are very close. The shopping center Brigittapassage, Hanover market, and the Millenium City are within a few km. In addition, Donaukanal, Donauinsel, and Augarten can be quickly reached by foot or by bike.
Living with Ekin is more than just sharing a space! We often find ourselves gathering in the living room for spontaneous cooking, chatting, and enjoying drinks together. Privacy is also very important: we always respect each other needs for private space and time. Everyone in the apartment is neat and clean: besides the weekly cleaning schedule, we all try to maintain the flat on a regular basis, but no one is a cleaning maniac!
The total rent is 445€ per month including electricity, heating, water, house insurance, and internet. We bought most of the furniture in common spaces (couch, washing machine, dining table, shoe rack), therefore the costs are shared among the current tenants (150€ each).
