Since I am doing an internship in Ethiopia for 6 months, my room will be free until I return. It's a classic Altbau room with a beautiful parquet floor, large bright windows, high ceilings and a very urban view over the U6, Vienna's rooftops and Nussdorfer Strasse. My furniture will stay in it, so you will enjoy a large bed, loads of storage options and don't have to bring anything :)
As common areas, you can use everything. We have a hallway with a couch, a fully equipped bathroom with a bathtub and a bright, lovely kitchen.
The flat is located 5 minutes away from the metro (U6 Nussdorfer Strasse and U6/U4 Spittelau) and right next to tram station Glatzgasse (the 37 and 38 lines bring you in 10 minutes to Schottentor, the U2 metro line and the Ringstrasse in the city centre). We have Spar and Hofer nearby as well as a Turkish supermarket, a super nice cafe right across the street (great breakfast), a pub downstairs and the Währinger Park like 5 minutes away on foot. Since the metro line is right in front of our building, it can get a bit loud, but it's nothing out of the ordinary if you are used to big cities.
We are a tight-knit group of friends who work and study. You will be living with Alex (Austrian, biology student/social worker), Elise (from the US, studies socio-ecological economics) and Lili (Hungarian, just started her Master's in socio-ecological economics, makes the most decadent food you'll ever taste). We're very warm and welcoming and although everyone has busy lives, we often cook together and enjoy elaborate dinners with wine and nice music. Generally, we're always open to meeting new people and care a lot about the world, so it would be ideal if you're an open-minded, tolerant person. We love going to museums together, chilling at the Danube with beers or just debating stuff in the kitchen and look forward to doing that with you!
