More information about me

We are Svenja and Johannes, and we are looking for a place to stay in Bolzano starting from September/October 2023. Perspectival, we would like to move in together and are therefore looking for a shared apartment or a small flat. However, we are open to different possibilities, and it is also an option for us to live separately as long as we have close distances to each other.
Both of us are from Hamburg, and we are passionate climbers. We are incredibly excited to finally move from the flatlands to the mountains and leave behind the bad weather of northern Germany to enjoy the sunny side of the Alps. We love to travel and are thrilled that we won't have to drive long distances anymore to find a climbing spot. We used to have a van and enjoyed long summer vacations with it, but then it had some technical issues. Now we are exploring new ways to be on the road. Anyway, the main reason we are moving to Bozen is that Johannes will be studying the EMMA Master's program (Environmental Management of Mountain Areas) starting in October. Svenja is a cool person and is simply coming along.
We have both lived in shared apartments for several years and know how to coexist harmoniously. We are clean and can live with or without a cleaning schedule. We consider others and are generally easygoing, enjoying living with people. It is important to us that there is a certain minimum standard of interpersonal interaction so that we don't have to discuss every little issue.
So, let's talk a bit more individually about ourselves:
Johannes: I am 27 years old and have a bachelor's degree in biology. During and after my studies, I worked as a route setter for various climbing and bouldering gyms. I enjoyed this work a lot, and I will miss it a bit. At the same time, I also work for an association that focuses on ecologically breeding apples and pears. I will be able to continue this work during my studies, which makes me very happy. Both jobs mean a lot to me, and I'm glad I can keep one of them. I'm looking forward to climbing a lot in Bozen. Haaa. I enjoy nature while also being social. I find plants fascinating, I like reading, and ecological connections fascinate me. Lately, I've been increasingly concerned about climate change and its impact, and I'm excited about the EMMA Master's program. Besides the basic needs like cleanliness, etc., in coexistence, it's important to me that we treat each other with respect. And of course, good coffee. By the way, Svenja and I have made a pact to buy an espresso machine for the move so that we can have access to good coffee all the time. It would be available to everyone. I enjoy chatting in the kitchen and engaging in spontaneous activities. Sometimes, I'm very busy, so you'd have to make explicit plans with me, and sometimes I also need my peace and time for myself. I think we all know that feeling. But for the most part, I'm looking forward to starting a new chapter in life, arriving in a new place, and meeting many new people.

Svenja: Hey! I'm Svenja, 23 years old, and currently, I spend way too much time at my desk working on my bachelor's thesis. Last summer (2022), I completed my training as a physiotherapist in Hamburg, and since then, I've been working two days a week at a sports physiotherapy practice. The remaining days of the week, I continue my studies at the university, pursuing my bachelor's degree in physiotherapy. I also spend a lot of time at the climbing gym and enjoy cooking with friends or meeting up on the banks of the River Elbe. I have a deep passion for sports, training, and, in general, the human body. I love my work as a therapist, but I equally enjoy coaching in youth competitive sports. Some of the things that define me are probably my curiosity, discipline, and love for climbing. Besides sports, I'm enthusiastic about engaging novels, as well as political books or (perhaps a bit nerdy) non-fiction literature on training, performance diagnostics or nutrition. Apart from climbing, I regularly practice yoga, enjoy running, and ride my bike as much as possible.
Moving to Bolzano is a little adventure for me! An adventure that I'm incredibly excited about. I look forward to the mountains, to (hopefully) better weather, and above all, to starting a new and exciting chapter in my life. I'm excited about making new acquaintances and spending a lot of time in nature. In Bolzano, I want to continue working as a physiotherapist, but it's also important for me to maintain a balance between work and time for myself, friends, and my hobbies.
When Johannes actually got his spot at the university in Bolzano, I was just as thrilled as he was. For me, this move means saying goodbye to my family and leaving behind my truly amazing physiotherapy practice, but it also means being closer to the mountains, meeting new people, and standing on my own two feet! I'm already looking forward to that.

Johannes is searching from September, and Svenja is searching from October, but we are somewhat flexible within a certain range and would also appreciate offers close to September and October. We each want a room, or two rooms for both of us. Our budget is around 500€ per person. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.
